Help g37s sedan 19x9.5 +22 275/35/19 square

g37s sedan 19x9.5 +22 275/35/19 square

I'm considering switching to 19x9.5 +22 275/35/19 square.

Aodhan DS02 and Firehawk Indy 500.

I do have sport brakes. Car is pretty low.

Don't want to modify fenders.

I'm wondering about fitment on these.


Here's a photo of the car currently:

it's 19x8.5 235/40/19 front and 19x9.5 255/40/19 rear

I believe front is +35 and rear is +40, but unsure.

19x9.5 +30 275/35/19

If you're going with a staggered setup, then why not 10" rears?

Because 9.5 is easier to fit in there and 10 is not needed for the amount of tire. I would rather have something lighter if I have the option between heavier and lighter.

10" is a common width for the rear of the sedan. Heck I think 10.5" fits too with some work. And acknowledged about weight... which is something you can also reduce with your selection of rotors and tires. But if you're going to boost your G like in your other thread, then don't you want as much contact patch as possible in the rear?

I guess it's a matter of priority... weight difference vs. maximum grip. Both are valid considerations, and not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Yeah z1 2 piece. I believe I was trying to work with the wheels I already chose in the past and 10 inch doesn't even exist on them. That's part of it. Another part of it is just the difficulty of getting wheels and tires that fit the way you want to. I did a lot of talking with projectpanda, who is always a great help. To me, I consider going from 255 to 275 and switching from DWS06+ to indy 500 an improvement that hopefully will be enough to handle the increased torque.

Turns out I need +22 on DS02 to clear the big brakes (according to Aodhan). This would result in massive poke. I'm again on the hunt for a wheel tire combo.

I just want a little more width for the tire in the rear (currently on 255/40/19) and want a flush fitment. Low spoke count, symmetrical design. I want to keep same ride height. I don't want rub/scrub and don't want to modify fenders. I don't want a large difference in terms of circumference/speedo/etc.

Would be nice to be able to rotate, but would also rather not have bad tramlining and worse steering response than my current 235/40/19 in front.

Latest plans:

19x8.5 +35 255/40/19
19x9.5 +38 255/40/19

I already have 3/16" front spacers so I can run the same fitment as I already have in the front. This is the same wheel size and offset as my current fronts with wider tires and more sidewall.
For the rear it would be a difference of 2 less than the current +40 offset. Same as current tire specs..

With this I won't get as wide of a tire as I was looking for, but save weight with wheels while being able to rotate.

I'd considered using the Nismo v1 front wheels (I think 9.5") all the way around, and staggering the tire sizes - I've got 245 fronts and 275 rears on 19" coupe sport wheels. I'm always leery of staggered tire size only... tell us more LOL

I've also considered that this might work but it's so expensive and hard to come by a set of these. Especially only friends. Usually people sell the stagger.

With what some folks are spending on wheels, they're not THAT bad. $650 or so each from Z1 (IE new)

I have been playing with the idea of the NISMO's for a while. Not 100% sold on them but options are limited for me- especially on the used market- and I find I am having the ****ens of a time finding a reasonable set one way or the other. That said,

The NISMO V1's, in 19x9,5+40, p/n: D0C00-1A36A, run ≈$825/ea.
The NISMO V2's, in 19x9.5+40, p/n: D0C00-3GM3A, run ≈$850/ea.

Above links for Z1Motorsports. There are some other sites that list these in the $650-700 range but who knows how reliable some of those sites are.

The irony is that people are trying to sell these same wheels, used and with rash, for MORE than what they cost new. The "NISMO" tax in play...?

Wheels are the biggest PITA - it's all Greek to me and I burn out thinking about it. I know it is me, but it seems easier to draw blood from a turnip than to get a decent set of wheels. Even worse for the Zed/4... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Both great wheels. V2 are really classy, IMO.

The V2 are very subtle, that general pattern is so common in aftermarket wheels but the Nismo ones are just a tad nicer. The V1s are sexy as hell having seen them in person.

I think my eventual plan is for a set of fronts for the sedan with 245 front tires and 275 or 285 rear. Currently have those tires on 8.5" and 9" coupe sport staggered.

I'd love to have the 10.5s in the rear, but I think I'd need to borrow one for an afternoon to see what I'd have to cut/flare. Shame all the local Z folks are on facebook only, this is still not sufficient to make me rejoin FB.
