A specific wheel and tire question for the G37x
I am looking to upgrade my wheels and tires on my G37x. From my research, it appears a 255/45/18 will fit fine on a 8.5” rim. What off set, if any, do I need for the rims? Also, can I go wider, and if so, what width rim and offset? Mine is the X model so I want to keep everything squared, no rubbing, and not stick out beyond the fender. I am going with 18” rims to keep the cost down. Thanks.

even though you have an awd, you have the option to go staggered as long as you keep the front and rear diameters within 1% (example: 245/45R18 fronts and 275/40R18 rear, both at 26.7 inch diameters)
For a sedan, if you have an 8.5", offset somewhere between +25 to +35 would be nice. I had 8.5" with 245 up front, and I did need to roll the fender lip, but i was also very low.
9.5" with offsets in the +35 to +45 is a good fitment without poking and you could do 255 also.
i currently have 9.5" +15 and there is poke in the front and definitely in the rear on the sedan.

I would like to put Michelin pilot sport AS3+ in 255-45-18 on all four corners. My car has the stock ride height and suspension. Any recommendations on specific rims I can consider ? Thank you for your help.

When comparing the 255/45/18 to my stock tire they were pretty close in diameter so I figured the speedometer would be close. I also wanted to put on the widest tire possible without getting away from my stock suspension or having to use spacers. From what I have been able to find it says an 8 1/2” wheel is ideal for a 255 tire. I am guessing I will need a +40-45 offset. Can you think of anything else? Please feel free to correct any information that I posted. Thanks again.

i understand that you chose the 255 based on it being the ideal section width for a 8.5" wheel. May I ask why you have choosen specifically a 8.5" wheel width? What's you budget for wheels also? You budget will help narrow down the wheel selection.
I bought my RPF1 in 18x9.5 +15 and 18x10.0 +38 new from RCA Garage for $1300 shipped, as a reference.
These Enkei TS10 are under $1000 shipped. the width is 9.5" and offset is +35, so tires, you can still go with a 255/40R18 if you'd like. This will fit very ncie on the sedan.

Here are the same wheels in a 18x8.5 +25 for the same price

I am looking at 255 because I was told it was the widest tire I could run without it sticking out past the body. I am looking at an 8.5” wheel because I was told it is the correct match for the tire allowing the tread to contact the ground properly. Ie. Not stretching or bunching the sidewall.
