G35 Rays Lugs

Gents,

I just installed my old G35 19" rays on my G37 sedan. They look Great to say the least. The shop where I installed them told me that I may need different lugs. I read here in the treads that when you have OEM wheels you suppose to use the OEM lugs and when you have aftermarket wheels you can use aftermarket lugs. I was wondering what about my setup? Do I need to get OEM G35 lugs?

I think the tech was referring to the style. Acorn vs shank w/ washer

Definitely talking about these. It'll depend whether the Rays use a washer seat or tapered seat. You should be able to take a picture of where the lug would sit on the wheel and post it here for an answer. Or see this: will be the first or second picture.

By the way, happen to have a pic of the rays on the car? I was looking at a used set before and was curious how they'd look on the G37.

I have G35 rays on my G sedan as well. Yes they use different nutz, the ones without the washers like in the pic above. So make sure you get the correct ones.

The part number for the short lug nut is 40224-ZN50A and it is a great idea to get it from a Nissan dealer instead of Infiniti. I went to Infiniti to make sure I get the right part and then I run to Nissan to purchase it. Infiniti want to charge me $5.44 each and Nissan Charge me "only" $3.40 each.

The Tein Basis Z are the coil over or just the springs?

Hey Greco can you post some side pics and a picture along the side of the car so I can see how these sit with the fender front and back? Been debating them just was curious on the stance. Thanks!

I would recommend getting the correct lugs as soon as possible. The acorn style lug nuts will basically bore out the lug holes and your wheels can break off....

I have the same wheels and had to get shank style lug nuts. I bought them from another member here. Going to the dealer is very overpriced.....

Good move cross shopping to Nissan. $34 is totally reasonable for a set of OEM lug nuts, IMO.

You're not driving around withthe wrong design lug nuts right now, are you?

OK....I had the shank with the washer and I went and bought the acorn. I have not driven them yet but I guess I installing again the original (shank with the washer) and returning back the acorn.
