What do you all think? Weds SA20R on IPL

I've been searching high and low for the right wheels in the right size with the right finish at the right price. Most have either been discontinued or only come in either a polished or matte black finish and I really wanted to keep the price down. I could go with say some Volk ZE-40's but I'd be out $4K before tires.

There were quite a few of the Wedssport wheels I liked, especially the SA-72R's and the SA-15's. The 72's don't come in 19" sizes and the SA-15's don't come in a color I like. I like the dark chrome versions but hate the blue inner portion. The gunmetal version looks bronze to me and would not work well on a Graphite Shadow IPL.

I saw the SA-20R's when they were first released and they've grown on me. I can get them in the WBC (black chrome) finish which is similar to the stock IPL wheels. They also come in the right width, 9.5". The smallest offset they have is 38mm so I'd have to run a 5mm spacer up front and a 10mm in the rear to get what I believe would be the perfect fitment. They weigh 21 pounds in that size which is a good reduction over the stock weights. They look "similar" to the IPL wheels but will have an R-type face meaning nice and concave.

Here's a pic:

Yea or nay? Price is very good IMO a far less than $2K although I'll have to spend $100 to get the flush center caps that I want. Weds won't swap them out.

In the pic alone, the wheels looks pretty good but I feel once it's installed it'll be too busy for the lines of the IPL...if that makes sense.
Not sure why you don't think bronze would look good, to me that's a great color combo out there.

What about SA55R in Matte Gray? The concavity is the R face and would be much easier to clean, and a 19x9.5 +24 would be a perfect coupe offset. I have the 18" SA10R in a 9.5 +38, have nice concavity and a very nice finish. They do have a lot of pockets to clean around so the SA20R would really take some time to fully detail, but they are a nice look for sure!

Yeah I looked at the 55r's and I honestly want more spokes which is why I liked the 72's and the 15R's. And I want something with a bit of bling from a color standpoint so no matte colors at all. I really like the IPL's original wheel color and washing more nooks and crannies doesn't bother me honestly.

Venom, I think the Graphite Shadow would really bring out the bronze in the wheels since the graphite is a neutral gray. They're supposed to be gunmetal but they have a very brown tint to them and I just don't like it. I've tried, believe you me. That black chrome would be perfect but it's an extra $200 or so per wheel and you get the nasty Suby blue inner wheel paint.

Here's the 15R, I've actually lightened the photo a bit.

Yeah, Weds have a real nice gloss finish, either of those wheels (15R & 20R) would look nice on your IPL (IMO), and for the price I don't think you can get a better quality wheel. The guy that mounted my wheels said he's never had a set that used fewer weights to get them balanced Jason@GetYourWheels got me a nice deal on mine and keeps you well informed from order to arrival.

I'll check with him on price, I found a shop I've dealt with in the past, KamiSpeed, who has them in stock in WBC. I contacted Ravspec and they were not only higher in price, they couldn't get the WBC finish.

But Venom does have me thinking...

Here's the GENTLMN Z w/ those wheels, scroll down a bit in the first posting, runing 19x9.5+25 front 19x10.5 +45 in back on his sedan https://www.myg37.com/forums/build-t...n-z-build.html

Ok now why'd ya have to go and point that thread out to me! They look fantastic and have that nice curved concave look I'm after. I'd have to check with them on the price for the SA-15R's but the SA20's were a good deal less than the advertised price on Get Your Wheels website.

Maybe the bronze wouldn't bother me so much. Decisions...

I just found this image and it gives a really good look at the color and I have to admit I like it. I also like the idea of not running any spacers at all. I'll contact GYW and see what they can do price wise as well as what KamiSpeed will do. Bought a Fujitsubo exhaust for my Evo from them back in 2006 and they were great to deal with. Drove all the way from Naples to Orlando and had my stock exhaust, wrapped of course, sticking out the back window! That place was total eye candy. So much JDM goodness hanging on the wall it wasn't funny.

Anyway, the pic.

Keep in mind the only R face in the 19x9.5 SA15R is the +25 offset, but that would be the right one for your coupe so

It'd be 11mm more poke than I have now (stock IPL rim with a 20mm spacer) in the front and 1mm more in the rear. That amount of extra poke out front worries me a bit but they look good on Gentlmn Z's car and don't stick out past the fenders. I guess I could do the 35mm offset but then you get the F face and not the R. And then I'd have to run a 10mm spacer in the rear.

I plan on running PSS 255/40/19's which are 27.1" in diameter, .2" more in front and .3" more in the rear. The stock bridgestones weigh 27 pounds front, 30 rear while the PSS in the 255 width weigh 27 pounds so I'd at least save 3 pounds per tire in the rear. The wheels should save me four pounds each up front and seven pounds each in the rear. I can get four of them at Costco for under a grand.

You'll have more room at the fender in front than the sedan. Here's a 10.5 +25 on 255s, so you'd be 13mm inside from these https://www.myg37.com/forums/attachm...zerender_4.jpg And a copy of Lt8ches 9.5 +30 on 265s, so the same fit at the fender as the +25 on 255s https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...ml#post3885722 And this one running 10.5+25s on 275s, just to give you an idea of the room you should gain (about 23mm in at the fender) https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...ml#post3891573 And one more, 19x9.5 +35 on 255s https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...ml#post4037547

Ha! Just sent you a private message right before I saw you'd posted again. I look at your 38mm offset and it looks perfect up front on your car.

11mm is going to be barely noticeable once the tire is on. This will also help your stance should you decide to go wider in the rear.
Love that color though

Saw your PM (this AM, lol) The coupes can take about 10mm more offset due to the fender width in front and about 15mm in back (give or take). I'd contact Lt8che and see if he has any better pics down the side of his fitment. That 19x9.5 +25 on 255s should get you real nice & flush, the wheel itself will be a bit outside the fender when looking down (like mine) but will tuck just fine. And since you want the concave R face that's the only option in that wheel.
