Best summer/all-season tires to reduce tramlining

Hi guys -

I've got a 2013 G37x with 2 sets of 17" wheels (one for summer and one for winter).

I will soon need to replace my summer tires and wondering what would be a good tire choice in regards to minimizing tramlining.

On our previous 2009 G37x with the A/S-3, I never noticed it tramlining but with the snows on this newer car, it's starting to bug me (has worn winters on it). Maybe because lately I have been driving different cars and trucks and notice this car tramlines more than the old one....

I hate the feeling as it bugs me (perhaps a lot of it is in my head).

Any suggestions? the A/S-3 again (it seemed ok)..

I like a little comfort and medium performance.... (that's why the 17" wheels).

I'd shoot a PM to Neal@Tirerack.com since he deals w/ almost all the tire lines, should have some good options. Also sticking w/ a narrower tire width will help in that regard.

Thanks, I didn't know if 2 or 3 track days was enough to warrant a track wheel set. I supposed the question could be worded: Which is worse, summer tires on the track or all season tires in the winter. How are Michelin Pilot Super Sports in the rain?

Michelin PSS are awesome in the rain. My first DE in the G was in a downpour and as long as you leave the driver nannies engaged, you are a god.

After two full and two partial DEs on the Michelins, the shoulders are gone. Keep that in mind.

Have you had the alignment checked? I developed a bit of a tramlining issue at one point (and like you it drove me nuts even though most people might not even notice). A small tweak of the alignment helped significantly.

Do you know if it was the caster they tweaked? Mine is at 3.9 (AWD car) but I have seen most RWD G's at 5.0 caster. My alignment guy said he could try and adjust the caster, but it isn't easily adjusted.

Front caster is not adjustable with the stock front control arms.
