Tire Load Index and Speed Rating

Tire Load Index and Speed Rating
The stock tire size on my G is 225/50/18 94V. I'm looking for winter tires and I was debating going lower on the speed rating for better traction in snow/slush. I understand higher speed rated tires have more rigid sidewalls which allows for better handling in dry conditions, but for all-out winter usage what are the pros/cons for going lower on the speed rating? I'm currently considering tires that come in 95T or 99H. Can anyone comment on which might might be better for my G? As far as the load index is concerned, my understanding that that going higher won't really make a difference, as long as I don't go lower than 94? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
