What color should I powder coat my 17" stock rims? (Graphite Shadow G37x)
Hi
I have shadow graphite g37x and thinking about do some paint job (powder coat) on the rims.
I was thinking about getting a new rim.. then I realize that means I have to get new tires as well. That is easy $1500 (at least) if I want to get at least 18+.
My current 17" stock rims are not too bad so I'm thinking about just paint them instead of buying the whole set.
Which color would be nice with graphite shadow g37? I was thinking about Gloss Black.. but then Gloss Gunmetal would be nice as well.
What do you guys think?

Honestly, I think you should leave well-enough alone, until you have the funds available for new wheels & tires. And your $1500 target is off by a lot. Also, now that you're thinking about it, you're going to notice more and more cars owned by young people where the OEM wheels are painted black. When that happens, you're going to rightly think to yourself how tacky that look is.

You are much better off buying some take-off 18s, or even 19s, with tires from the forum than you are powder coating 17s.
Powder-coating will cost probably ~$300-500, depending on location. That will go a good way towards some better wheels.
(I'm having a set PC'd right now, and it's 480 for color + clear. This is CA pricing, though, so you might get a better deal.)

You could probably score 18" sport or coupe wheels within your budget.

I agree with what everyone is saying, leave as is or buy used. Rims really do make or break tge appearance of your car, but I personally never go cheap on tires.

I don't know, I got a set of 19" sport coupe wheels, with decent tires, for $400 of CL. After selling off the tires, net cost of 4 wheels was $180.
Sure this isn't the norm, but it's also not the only deal out there. Secondhand OEM wheels are easily the best value option for wheel upgrade, and luckily Nissan/Infiniti makes some pretty nice wheels, so the market is pretty big.
Just keep your eyes peeled and be patient.
