Wheel help

I plan on getting some aftermarket rims. I have an g37x so I know my wheel set up has to be even. But my question is can I have different offsets or lip sizes from the front and the rear.
Example:
19x12 +2/-2
5.5" lips for the front and 6" lips for the rear.
All I know for the awd is that you have to have the same size width and tires for all around. (From what I can see I do)
Also can someone explain to me what an offset is. I've asked around and did some research but I never got an answer

best wheel options for sedan if you are willing to keep OEM Camber spec
front 20 or 19 x9.5 +30~+35
rear 20 or 19 x10.5 +40~+45

u can run eitherx9.5 +30~+35 or x10.5 +40~+45 all around.

the only thing you have to keep in mind is the rolling diameter of the tires is the same.
other than that, you can fit any wheel and tires you want.

i am currently running 20x10.5 +25 all around.
tires im running are 275/30/20 all around.

Yes you can have different size offsets, widths, and lip sizes. Like stated above its all about rolling diameter when you have an x model. Offset is just that, the offset of the spokes basically. Positive is towards the outside of the wheel closer to the fender, while negative would be more towards the inside of the wheel closer to the suspension components.
