20'' wheels on g37x coupe

Hi.

In order for me to put 20'' whells on my 2009 g37x coupe, what should I do?

Can I just order wheels and replace them with original 18'' rims? or buy something else also?

What about with 19'' wheels?

BTW I lowered my car with Eibach spring.
Thank you!!

The main concern especially w/ an AWD is the diameter of your new tires, as you go up in rim size you'll need to go down in sidewall height to keep the diameter the same. If you go 19s you'll want 245/40/19s all around, or if you go staggered a set of 245/40/19 front 285/35/19 rear. For 20s a 245/35/20 all around or 245/35/20 front 285/30/'rear are all sizes that are real close in diameter to your stock tire size. When you order your wheels you must get correct offsets so your new tires aren't too far out or sunken too far inside the fender wells. If you find a particular wheel you like post over on the wheel section of the site for more specific help.

Hi guykang,
I am currently running staggered 20's on my X without an issue. When you upgrade your wheels the most important factor is that the new wheels/tires are within a 3% margin of the stock rolling diameter. It depends what wheel size you're running, but I agree with blnewt's recommendations they're spot on. I played it safe and went with 245/35/20's all around without issues.

If you're lowered on Eibachs you need to get an alignment to see what your camber & toe settings are. One or the other & possibly both may be out of spec resulting in increased tire wear or dangerous driving conditions.

As far as new tire diameters, the usual thought is +/- 3% of your original tire diameter, w/ an AWD there's bee a few members that have had AWD issues at speeds over 80mph when their diameters were more than 1% different, so to be safe it's best to keep those diameters within 1% w/ an AWD G. The tires I listed will be within 1%.
Be sure to use this tire calculator if you go w/ different sizes

@gyukang2 you don't need to adjust the camber unless you lower (or plan on lowering) the car (which I suggest if you put on 20's). Depending on the widths and offsets of the wheels you choose, you can opt for spacers to get the wheel flush with the fender, but spacers are entirely optional. At 10" wide in the back, my wheel is almost flush with the fender so I didn't install any spacers. Smaller offsets will also make your wheels stick out more, but may affect the AWD once you get into the really aggressive offsets (+25/30 and below)

OPs first post said he was dropped on Eibachs.

I have never done changing wheels so I have no idea what to put in the calculator.
I am planning to just get 19'' OEM sports rims.
Should I just get staggered OEM sports rims or all Front 19x8.5 coupe wheels??
Again, thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Are 20s too big? 19s I think is the right size.

I'd get the staggered set, it'll give you a more aggressive look & stance, and the rear will be more planted w/ the wider tires.

At stock height 19s look better, if you're dropped 19s and 20s both look right IMO

As I said, I already lowered my car with iebach springs.
There won`t be any problems putting staggered 19" OEM wheels without camber kits?!?!?!

I think are signals are getting crossed
I already stated that you've lowered your car, but unless you've had an alignment you won't know what camber & toe settings you have. Chances are one or both of those setting is out of spec and you"ll probably need some help from an aftermarket camber/toe kit to get things right.

You'll be able to install those 19s regardless of your camber, but I'm repeating the camber info because it's not really safe to drive w/ a car out of alignment. If you've had an alignment and you're happy with the numbers than disregard most of this post

There is a guy who is selling "All Front 19x8.5 coupe wheels and tires".

He says that they are general g max tires all 225/45/19.

Do you think these size will fit perfect on my AWD coupe with Eibech spring?

I am just worried about AWD system so I keep asking you.

Again, thank you for your time and consideration!!
