Might give that a shot. However I would be concerned that the difference in paint color would make it look not so bueno.

Lovin' the look you have going there, the more I see Velgen wheels, the more I like their look on the G. Great car man.

- Offset: +35F/+45R
- Tires: 245/35/20F 275/30/20R
- NO Fender Roll - NO Rub
Do you think 285s in the rear will rub?

Good job on the ride! Very clean.

If know this thread is a little old but I'm looking to buy a set of these within a week or two and can't find the info I'm looking for. Figured I'd ask someone who has owned the same wheels. I asked Velgen if I could use stock lugs and wheel locks but they said I needed aftermarket ones. Can you point me to where I can get the lugs? I guess I'll need to buy new wheel locks too. I'm going with the hyper silver so I was hoping to be able to reuse my stock ones.

I put Muteki Neo-Chrome lugs on mine:

Amazon.com: Muteki 32905N SR Series Neon Chrome 12mm x 1.25mm SR48 Open End Lug Nut Set, (Set of 20): Automotive Amazon.com: Muteki 32905N SR Series Neon Chrome 12mm x 1.25mm SR48 Open End Lug Nut Set, (Set of 20): Automotive

They also make a set of locking lugs that you can get.

Thank you! Do these wheels really require such long lugs? Or, like the color, is that an aesthetic thing? Call me boring but I just want normal lugs. I'll use this as an example and see if they make normal lugs though so I appreciate the comment!

Here's some chrome ones
Amazon Amazon
They also come in black (but you'd have to get locks w/ this set)
Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 21123BC Small Diameter Acorn Black 5 Lug Kit (12mm x 1.25 Thread Size) - Pack of 20: Automotive Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 21123BC Small Diameter Acorn Black 5 Lug Kit (12mm x 1.25 Thread Size) - Pack of 20: Automotive
Might PM Rochester, he's a nice chrome McGard lug set.

So weird seeing my SN pop up out of the blue. You kill me, Newt.

jsampsell, I'm using the McGard, two-piece, spline-drive lug nuts. I was expecting to use lock-nuts, but figured the McGards by themselves are enough security. While the spline-drive design isn't that uncommon, you specifically need a McGard spline socket... so unless wheel thieves are well-equipped for all spontaneous situations, you're probably OK.

I like the two-piece design. Go read up on it, if you're interested.

And here's a lug-nut thread I used to help figure out what to get:

Thanks guys! I'm going to start my research since my old wheels finally sold. I'm just waiting on the manufacturer to get back from SEMA so that I can order them. I don't want to have them here and not be able to mount them so I'll be diving into this research this weekend. Thanks again!

So I'm wavering between the hyper silver and the matte gunmetal. I don't see any gunmetal colored lugs so I'm wondering if I should go with a black lug. Would black look weird on a gunmetal wheel? Thoughts?

Black should look just fine. I mean the tires are black and they're going on your wheels , so you've got that.
