Pics of Potenza s-04 pole position or potenza RE760 ?
Looking for pics of these tires on OEM 19s. Trying to determine if either of these have the flared out edge that extends past the rim to protect it, like the OEM Bridgestone RE050 tire does.

The RE760 extends beyond the rim. Once I get back to the car, Ill take a pic and post it for you. I did go to a plus size tire though

Hopefully these pics will help. Just installed a full set of S04's yesterday. It was between the PSS, S04s and the EVO V12's. The S04s rim protector is pretty beefy and extends about 5 mm from the edge of the OEM sport wheel. Decent protection I would say.

The RE050s got pretty noisy once I got about 20K on them...they also wore out relatively fast soon afterwards due to their low treadwear rating. I replaced them with Hankooks EVO V12s at 25K and those lasted pretty long until I clocked 65K on the car. The EVO V12s were always quieter than the RE050s; however, I found that the steering was less responsive and somewhat "sloppy" on quick turns. Only time will tell, as I break these tires in, to see if things change for the S04s. I only have about 150 miles on the S04s but I can tell you that so far the steering feels much more responsive than the EVO V12s and slightly better than the RE050s. I do not perceive any more noise than the EVO V12s ever had. I also like that the S04s have a decent rim protector on them...the EVO V12s had none to speak of and I do not recall if the RE050s offered any rim protection. I got a good deal on the S04s...they were priced about the same as the EVO V12s so it was really a no-brainer to get them (especially with the current rebate of $70 from Bridgestone). Getting another set of RE050s wasn't even on my mind...they are way too expensive for OEM...you can do better. Based on the professional reviews and my limited experience, you get about 95% of the performance found with the PSS (currently considered the best in the summer tire category) at roughly 75% of the cost.

so I got the SO4's put on and I like them. Got them from Discount Tire, which had the same price as Tire rack. Unfortunately, I guess they were off a little on the balancing, so I had to take them back in yesterday to get re-balanced, but they fixed them up no problem........ Rides nice and smooth now.

I bought the 760's when my stock tires wore out. At the the time S-04 did not exist. Over-all I'm very happy with the 760's, but the S-04's cost less than the 760's on Tirerack so I have to consider then as my next summer tire. I just don't want to sacrifice too much tire life for slightly better handling. But since my car is paid for and I have no plan to upgrade my G I might just pay more and get the Pilots. But my 760's should have 1 or 2 more summer left.
