Q-50 Update.. Wheel Discussion+ More

The q50 is pretty bad looking IMO I was up at our local dealership BS ing with some guys I know and looking at the q50, it look like a boring car it's really sad to see that infinit replaced the 37 with this. I loved infiniti and now I doubt I would ever buy another one. Just so disappointed. It's screams Mazda. I don't understand how anyone would be impressed by this car.
That's my opinion only.

You guys are on crack, the G37 exterior styling is extremely bland and bloated; the Q50 has more flair and an aggressive stance that has been lacking from recent Infiniti products. I think the Q50 will succeed because of its style even though it's less of a driver's car than the G37.

OMG that looks good. This is what the sport model should have looked like from the factory. Completely changes the dynamic of the car and erases any notions that this is a Mazda/Hyundai knockoff. Now if they could figure out how to get the 0-60 into the high 4s to challenge the 335.

[QUOTE=blnewt;3660523]Not sure about that, the bumpers maybe, but their track record for wheels is spotty at best. This was definitely not going from good to better IMO~
Maybe for the coupes, but not for the sedans IMO.

I really still like the OLD sport 18's. I would use them on my coupe now

No, Diego, not really. It looks exceedingly average for a mid-sized sedan. If anything, it looks both bland and awkward at the same time. I drove an AWD-S yesterday, and in no way have the same level of enthusiasm you seem to have for this car.
But then, looks are subjective. I think my kids are gorgeous.
Those Vossen CV5's, on the other hand. Those look absolutely amazing.

You're absolutely correct, looks are subjective. To me it looks amazing in person, the car now with a drop + wheels has gotten an amazing response from our Intstagram/FB fans. Personally, I felt exacly as you stated with it being bland and awkward, but I was truly shocked on the outcome. My personal thoughts on the new Q50. I just went through 500 comments on our IG account, all positive!! Maybe a few negative ones, but that is ok since not everyone will agree.

Sniper said it best. Put a set of those beautiful 20" CV5's on something like a dropped KIA Optima, and it will look as good (better, actually) than the Q.
Of course, it won't get out of its own way, and has the body roll of a Weeble.

I think some people are missing the point, whether it looks sportier or nicer or got uglier, at the end it's now more similar to other cars, meaning the styling is not unique and different as Infiniti is used to bringing out. There styling sets them apart, doesn't make you double look at the car to make sure it's a infiniti, you know it soon as you if you see a G37 Sedan, you can tell right away if it is a unique infiniti G design, but this new design looks like Acura+Lexus and a little BMW combined for the front, it looks nice and aggressive just not different. The rear looks really boring IMO. They got rid of the round LED Tail lights which have been stuck in my brain since fast and furious skyline GT-R's lol and till this day exist on many infinitis. They went away from there norm and went to the automotive worlds norm. $1000 extra for leather, seriously? They even took the analog clock out and changed the name, they want to be a totally new company and have nothing to do with it's past, all the little trademarks or uniqueness they had seems to be gone, they getting in the German league to be the Benz of Japan

It's not like the Sonata and Mazda6 are ugly cars. At least not to me.
They are Front Wheel Drive, which to me is very objective and is the reason I would never consider either.
I like the look of the Q and the G, but refuse to pay the "Hype charge" for today's Q. In fact, first year models like this scare me. I will let the less conservative pioneer types jump on this one and debug it for me ;-)
