like 5th gear said, if you can't check your air pressure every couple of months then you shouldn't even be driving.

80% of regular air is nitrogen, so, if there is any benefit to nitrogen, you get 80% of it for free if you just use air.

The added pressure from the moisture would blow the tires on landing.

IMHO, it's not worth it for your car unless you're doing a lot of track days.....but using N2 in your tires won't hurt them at all.
Well said. Race cars use it because air pressure is one of the ***** they turn to tweak the car's handling. 1 or 2psi for them can make a big difference.

^ yes but 99% of the drivers on this forum are not race cars drivers and a big majority of us can even tell a difference between any improvement of nitrogen (if any) if our lives depended on it...

My dealer claims to have filled my tires with nitrogen (no extra cost) but when I track the car starting at around 35 psi, I come back at 41-42 psi. I hone in the pressures after a few more sessions, but should the pressures fluctuate so much even with nitrogen?

I had nitrogen filled the tires at dealership when I got my evo.
9 months of hard driving, pressure is exactly the same.

That's almost a whole year with no pressure drop, IMO it's worth it.
Shop by me does 5-10 per tire.

Just knowing pressure is stable is worth the extra$.

When I got the car, they asked if I wanted the nitrogen vs compressed air.
Tires last longer, no mouisture from the nitrogen.
Regular air, like from a gas station is filled with all kinds of crap.
The gas station by me has 2 Air pumps, went to put air in my g.
He told me use my line, it's clean.

Tires don't Dryrot from inside.
Unless using unfiltered compressed air.,

Yea ok, I watched them do it.
They deflated infront of me, & refilled it with nitrogen.

Btw my wife's Nissan Juke came standard with the nitrogen full with colored tires valve stems to see if it changes color you need air, maybe it's been a while since you bought a car.

It's called technology.

Depends on price. I just had this done at the dealer for 35 bucks. Worth it.

"like 5th gear said, if you can't check your air pressure every couple of months then you shouldn't even be driving."

If Fifth Gear would like to come out and do it they are more then welcome.
I Hate putting air in my tires!!!
Gas stations charge so much for only a few mins of air time and the places that still offer free air. Their pumps always seem to have some type of issue with them.

Sounds like nitrogen is the way to go.

For about 3-4 Nitrogen fills you can buy your own $90-$100 compressor, even if you rarely use it for tires, the first time you have to fill up one of those kids pool inflatables (rather than by your lungs) it'll pay for itself

Did they actually purge your tires after they deflated them? Meaning, did they deflate them then re-inflate with nitrogen and repeat several times? If not, then you probably still have at least 50% "air" and the associated moisture. So, IMHO, you were ripped off.
