Hankook V12 again or something better???

Hey guys. Im in the market for new tires again. I bought my Hankook V12 in June of 2011 and theyre starting to bald. Im having traction issues so my cornering has suffered. When its wet outside, its not pretty. The car slides even when im accelerating from a stoplight. Couple years ago when i got the Hankooks, they seemed to be the favorite here on the forum as far as aftermarket tires. Should I go with these again or should I try a different tire? Perhaps something newer? In other words, whats everyone running now a days for our cars? Oh and I have a 2008 coupe running stock 19's with 245 front and 275 rear Hankook V12 at the moment. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks again

I'm running my '08 coupe on some 20" Vossens wrapped in Hankook V12 tires and they work great for me. I'd say give them another try.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports hands down.. I had the PS2's before, and i thought they were amazing until I bought the PSS's. I had the V12s, and there is a night and day diff between the two..

thanks for the input guys. OMEGA, how do they differ? Are the PSS better in terms of traction, tire life?

PSS has much better traction in both dry amd wet. They also last longer, it really is a night and day difference. They are also very light tires which will benefit you. Get Super Sports, they really are the best street tires out.

I have the V12's on my 20" WORK's and when it comes time to change them I'll be going with something different. I'm not too pleased with them.

Thanks again for the input guys. 6mt, that really helped. Checked tire rack and you guys weren't kidding. The reviews are almost perfect. Since id be going with the same sizes, it would come out to $1224 before shipping. Is tire rack my best best? thanks again dudes

Tire Rack (275/35/19)
- Michelin PSS $328/ tire ($1312 total)
- Hankook V12 $217 / tire ($868)

So it comes down to value. The Michelins are great tires but are 66% more expensive. The Hankooks are very good tires too, and for the money are a much better deal.
If you go to the track often, and need the absolute last but of performance, then the Michelins make sense. But if not, save yourself almost $450 and go with the Hankooks.

Wow your tires last you almost 2 years! Lol mine last about 6 mo...camber ware! But fixing all that soon...
Ive read in the wheel and Brake forums that Hankooks are noisy and slipping issues. Im thinking Nitto or Toyo will be my next set. Though leaning more towards Toyo due to pricing.

well i thought about camber when i first dropped my car. I have eibach springs and SPC kits on the front and the rear so camber wear is minimal. The hankooks do slip thats for sure. Ill agree on that.

Just my opinion, but we each drive a car that is capable of "brisk" moments. The only thing touching the road is the tires and plays a massive part in handling, driver comfort (noise/vibration) and overall safety in emergency situations. Might just be how i justify the cost of the PSS's, but I would not buy anything else. V12's are not worth the savings.

Rears - 275- 30-20
I had the sunmitomos from tire rack. They lasted 19k miles (camber wear) $180 each.
Now I have generals from TireRack so we will see

Noticeable and annoying... Slow to respond, low grip from my experience.. I dont mean to knock the tire as I know many buy them due to their value, but it isn't something I would want to drive on.
