Thanks blnewt for the reply at the bottom to the question I posted. The vendor confirmed the Avant Garde M368 will clear the BBK.

After searching more on the 275/40r19 & 245/45r19 tire size question I had below, almost every post I could find basically suggested not to do it for various reasons, including the wheel/tire combo will look way too big, not to mention the speedo issues. However, I found this post with the picture of "thelimit" 's G with the SSR GTV03 19s on the tire sizes I asked about.

Why is it that in that photo the setup looks really good on his car but then in other photos I found the same setup on another G, also lowered, and they basically look like tractor wheels?

A related question too, I read the recommendations of the SSR GTV03 and really like the wheel. If I were to forgo the 19" and stick with the 18" on the OEM tire sizes what would be the optimal wheel width and offsets to go with as they have several to choose from on TreadDepot.com?

I really don't want to lower, even on Swifts, and I think I can live with the fender gap in the pics from the above post. I had an 2002 A4 for 12 years that I dropped on Eibachs with 19" RS4 wheels and the ride height for appearance was perfect but the springs provided an extremely jarring ride that didn't offset the handling gains IMO.

Can I go up to a 275/40/19 and 245/45/19 instead of the recommended tire sizes? I'd like to eat up some of the fender gap with a slightly taller tire and keep roughly the same sidewall height as the OEM duckfeet tires for comfort reasons. I used the tire size calculator and it would be a 3.54% difference so I know it's out of the recommended difference by about a half of a percent. My question is this, with the RWD is the only concern that the speedo will be off or are there mechanical issues as well?

In fact i'd like to go with Avant Garde M368 rims. The only reason i'm going down the 19" route is because they aren't offered in 18".

So if you have any more knowledge on what exact size i should be after for fitment, please let me know. I don't recall having seen 19x9 offered, it seemed to be 8.5 or 9.5...

I'm also looking at upgrading to the Akebono caliper setup down the line...

Also will I require any wheel spacers with this setup?

oh yea, and lastly, any TPMS suggestion as to which brand to buy. I am planning on buying the setup from getyourwheels.com but feel they're ripping me off selling $180 TPMS each! thanks again

Some wheel tire combos just give off a different overall look, some have thicker barrels or even different wheel color combos that can play tricks on the eye, but will be the same in sidewall series and overall diameter. Similar to seeing 20s on a stock height G, it makes the fender gap appear bigger when in reality it's the same.

As far as going w/ SSRs in the 18 size~you've got 7.5 +45 front w/ 225/50/18 and 8.5 +50 rear running 245/45/18 tires as OEM.

I'd go with 8.5 +35 and run the back 245/45/18 tires in front, and for the rear run 18x9.5 +45 w/ 275/40/18s and trash the old front 225s. The 7.5" SSR may not clear the BBK, but not sure.

You might post a WTB (want to buy) thread in the classifieds for the TPMS sensors, should save some $$, or you can use the ones in your OEM whels if you're not going to use them for a winter set.

As far as the Avante Garde wheels, you can run the 19x9.5 +40 offset and run a 245/40/19 tire. It will be a bit inside the fender compared to Lt8ches' coupe but will be better if you're not lowered.
As far as clearing the brakes, you'll have to confirm that w/ the vendor.

You can use 20mm all around, or 20mm front and 15mm in the rear.

Thanks again for the help. I looked into the SSR GTV03 and the 18x9.5 comes in the 45 offset but the 18x8.5 only comes in 22, 30, 40, 48, and 55 offsets. Would it be best to go down to the 30 offset for the 8.5 or go up to the 40? I'm guessing down to the 30 so it's sure to clear the BBK? Not sure though.

Hi guys,

I'm about to make the purchase of 4 Avantgarde M368 19 x 9.5 Rims and some 245/40/19 rubber for my 2010 G37 X Coupe. I'm looking to upgrade from the stock brakes to the akebono big brake kit (4 calipers) all around. I've been trying to research the info regarding clearance but not being really good at understanding some of this stuff, do you guys foresee any fitment issues going down this route?

Contact Need4Speed or GetYourWheels and ask about BBK clearance, they should be able to help, be sure to specify the offset you're wanting as well.

I was just wondering if 19x9.5 +22 front and 19x10.5 +15 would fit good? If so, what size of tires I should get? Sorry if this was reposted before I couldn't find it. Its for Q60s.. Thank you

Front will work, rears will poke, you'll want offsets in back around +25 to +30.
With the better offsets you can run a 245/40/19 front 275/35/19 rear.

Thanks blnewt! I had my wheel guy work it out with Lexani. I got them with flush offsets at front = +22 and rear +37. I test fitted and they clear the BB calipers by at least half inch(front). I'll post up photos in 3 weeks once i order tires and put them on
