Hi Guys,

I've read through this thread and used the tire calculator, so I'm 90% positive this setup will fit with no rubbing or clearance issues...but just want to confirm with someone more knowledgeable. The tire calculator confused me a bit.

Specs:
G37s Coupe
Looking to purchase an 18x9.5 square setup
Offset unknown
Tires are 18/225/50

I'm working on getting the offset #. Any and all help is appreciated!

You'll want offsets similar to Lt8che, he's running 18x9.5 +30 and 265/40/18 tires. I'd run at least a 245/45/18 on those 9.5 rims, they're too wide for a 225 width IMO.

Would 19x9.5 look ridiculous on an x Sedan with no drop? I found a set of 19x9.5 42 offset Volk Racing SF Winning wheels with brand new Toyo Proxes 4 tires 245/40/19 for a really great price locally. Is there anyway these could work without having to change anything major? I believe the rolling diameter is the same. I was looking for something more like 8.5 or 9 wide but.. I really love these wheels and it's such a great price that I have to buy them if I can make it work!

That's actually a very good set for your X, the fronts will be close to the fender edge but not poking, and since you're not dropped you'll have plenty of suspension travel prior to hitting the inner fender edge. And even if you do it would be rare and on the inside where it wouldn't be seen. I would say no if they were 20s, but 19s on stock suspension still looks decent, and the wheels are high quality so I'd jump on that setup.

I will be getting Forgestar CF5V (Bronze) 19x8.5 (F) 19x9.5(R)
Front tires 245-40-19 and Rear 275-35-19

I have a 2008 G37 Journey Coupe on Eibach springs and swaybars.
I'm trying to get a flush look and not have any rubbbing issues and I don't want to get any spacers. will the above specs work?

Go with offsets +25 front and +30 rear and you'll have a nice fit.

Hi guys

Here is my challenge; I want my car to look like this one. I know the wheels are Avant Garde that are 19 X 9.5 with a offset of probably 40, and that it does'nt clear akebono brakes without spacers. In order to clear brakes a custom offset without spacers is in the range of 20ish which I know is pretty aggressive. Does anyone knows the owner?
or can get me some info so I can replicate the look.

That sale listing says it's an 8.5 +35 front and 9.5 +40, you'd have to contact the vendor about clearing the BBK. You could send a PM to GetYourWheels, they deal w/ those Avante Gardes on a daily basis and would be able to help w/ brake clearance. You could probably run a square 9.5 +40 that would have a better chance of clearing the BBK and run 275/35s all around. Check this thread for some aggressive square setups~

The pics on the white G look like it's running wider than an 8.5 in front, looks like a 10" squared setup by my untrained eye

Hi I already talk to Vibe Motors and they told me the car has 9.5 square set up with spacers but don't remember the width of the spacers. Also talked to need4speed (vendor) and they say to fit w/o spacers it has to be customize to offset 20 or 20 something.
And my question is what needs to be done to fit a 19 x9.5 square setup +20 offset?

If you had a coupe you could just camber it up and roll the front fenders. A sedan will require real heavy camber, stretched tires and maybe fender pull. You should be able to find some concave 5 spoke wheels that will give a similar look w/ better clearance. I'd shoot a PM to N4S or GetYourWheels for recommendations.

Hey blnewt I'm looking to get a set of AG rims in a square 19x9.5 setup. I have an x sedan, what tire size would you recommend? I'm currently running 245/40/19 on coupe 19s, could I swap tires or should I get 275/35/19.

9.5s are the widest rim for a standard mount on 245s, so you can swap tires. This would be a good plan as you could get a good idea for exactly how much tire you can go when the old ones are worn. depending on offset you could run up to a 275/35, I wouldn't go wider than that since the front has less clearance than the rear.

^You are the man! Thanks for the help. The offset is +40, like the avant garde rims that g37fan is talking about I would need to run a custom offset in the low 20s to clear the akebono bbk. I've been talking to getyourwheels and that was the answer I was given, I'm not looking to do any extra work regarding fenders so I'll just purchase the +40 offset and use spacers. Thanks again for the help regarding the tires.

Hopefully you won't need much spacing, the 9.5 +40 will already be pretty close. You may have to roll the front fender if you get your net offset in the +25 range, but rolling the front fender edges isn't too big a deal.
