Less a fitment question more of a wheel question...
New wheels clear the big brakes in the front by precisely 0.5mm. Do I need to worry about the wheels flexing and colliding with the brakes during cornering? How about on the track?
Edit: the internet's armchair experts are scaring me. Do I need new lugs with 2-3mm spacers?

Hey guys fault new to the group and I just have a few questions if you guys don’t mind. I have 12 G37x sedan, just got some swift springs in and my 19x9.5 wheels are scheduled to be delivered this coming Friday but I’m unsure if I should run 255/40 or 245/40 squared for the tires size. Any help would be great thanks in advance.

offset question
How would a 19x8 +35mm offset w/ 235/40/R19 tires fit on a stock G37xS no BBK? I don't wanna have to do any fender mods or camber. They're offered in 45mm but I don't want that tucked in look

Swift springs with KYB dampers on stock sport wheels with 285/35 on the rears. Does anyone have this setup and if so any issues experienced? Worried about the Swift drop with that width of rear tire.

Current setup:
I want to put wider wheels on it and eventually plan to put air suspension on it and slam it. In the meantime, I don't want garbage fitment while using coilovers. I want to keep the same ride height or lower it further with my new wheels/tires purchase. I want to tuck the wheels so I can get it lower. I don't want to have obvious stretch or have the tire coming off the wheel when there is some camber. I don't want extreme camber.
The wheel I want only comes in 20" versions. I've spoken with Variant about the wheel for a pretty long time and the conclusion we've come to is 20x9 255/35/20 and 20x10 275/35/20. The idea is to be able to have the room to adjust camber as necessary to tuck well while on air.
My main concern is to make sure this won't poke on coilovers and I can keep my ride height or at least be very close to it. The concern is that the wheels are larger in diameter than the old ones. I don't really have offsets because Variant is known to not give them out until purchase (you tell them the fitment you want and they set the offsets -- in order to avoid attempted returns).

I went too aggressive with the offset (ET28) so I have more of a poke than I wanted, which meant I had to run a more narrow tire. I love the the size & width of my wheels, but I wanted to run much more beefy tires. Being that my offset is so aggressive, I had to scrap that idea. I'm currently shopping for a new set of 20x10 concave wheels with an offset that will allow me to run the fat tires that I initially wanted.

Calling all wheel gurus...
'08 Coupe/ Akebono/ RWD/ stock but will be installing Koni/Swift setup "eventually." Sunday driver.
Eyeballing a (used) set of Q60 (CV37) Red Sport wheels to replace my 19's... currently staggered but this set I'm looking at is square.
Wheel= 20x9 et40 (square set)
Tire= 255/35
Thoughts/ opinions/ potential issues...? I'd be ok if I was forced to run a spacer/ extended studs, but anything more and I'll count them out.

Picked up some q60 oem wheels, 19x9 all around..came with some 255/40 tires, my question is can I just use those tires for the time being? I'll eventually want to go to maybe 265/35 but I might as well use these tires up?

Im 18x9.5 +35 squared. Next set will be 18x9.5 +22 front 18x10.5 +35 rear. For your setup mentioned that should be good but closer to +35 on a 9.5 in the rear will be better. At one point i was not happy with the fitment and had 3mm spacers. So +32 all around and that was really close to flush at my ride height. Pic below is no spacer though, so +35 square. Fronts leave something to be desired but at +22 you'll like the fitment. Or even +25 if you can find it.

255/40/18 square. 18×9.5 +38 isn't really gonna poke unless you have zero camber. 1 to 1.5 inch drop will naturally camber the wheel and fender to the top of rim & won't be pokey on that setup
