My 18x9.5 +38s have about 10mm clearance IIRC, and this member ran 18x9.5 +45 and it barely cleared, so you will be just about like his fit at the steering knuckle running 10" +39s. Of course some wheels may be even wider by a mm or 2 in that area so

18x10 +40 will be 1.4mm closer than the 18x9.5+45
and 8.4mm closer than +38
are those clearances too sketchy against the knuckle? i didn't want to run spacers since i was already going to be square x10 +40 all around on my rwd coupe. or would a 5mm or something in the front be alright too if needed?

This looks like the best place to post my question. My girlfriend is looking to change the wheels on her car, but she doesn't want an overly aggressive setup. She's wants to have a flushed look with the new wheels & tire combo. She drives a 2011 G37S coupe & she is looking to purchase a set of Niche Staccato wheels in either 20x9 +35 or 20x10 +40. She's going with a square setup and wants more width without having any poke. As previously stated, she wants the wheels & tires to be flush. Any suggestions &/or recommendations for wheel and tire sizes?

according to the wheel calc
18x10 +40 will be 1.4mm closer than the 18x9.5+45
and 8.4mm closer than +38

The problem with the high offset wide 18s is that it hits the knuckle before it has a chance to curve away. The same width and offset 19inch won't have that problem.
If you do managed to get this on your car before I do, please let us know how much clearance you have. I'm thinking something like an 18x10 +30 to +34 should be the safest.

The fact that that 18x9.5 +45 DOES clear (at least that specific SSR wheel) with the width of that wrench would give the green light for that 10"+39 clearing, but again, different wheels will have slightly different widths in that area so a little more in that area and you would need a small 3mm spacer to give you a safe distance there. The was a member in one of the threads about 6 months ago, maybe slightly longer that was running 10+40 all around and didn't have clearance issues. I'll see if I can find it.
If you aren't opposed to running that small 3mm spacer you should be good to go, but then it depends how much tire you want to run as the fender clearance then come in to play

thanks for all the input. i agree 18x10 +30 would make my life easier but i found a good set in +40 so i might be picking them up this weekend. if i do get them i'm going to get a 3mm spacer for the front as well just in case.
i'm hoping i can run around -2.5 front and -2 deg rear on this set up with 255/40 and 295/35

Hello all,
I am very inexperienced with tire and wheel fitments and need assistance. I have a G37X coupe. I would like to run a square setup. I am currently lowered on BC coilovers with rear adjustable camber arms. That being said:
What do I have to achieve to obtain this fitment, as in the attached picture? Where the lip of the rim slightly protrudes out to line up with the fender and the tire is tucked in. I realize I will need my fenders rolled.
I am thinking of running 19 x 9.5" with a +22 offset? 245/35/19 tires?

Those offsets are conservative for a coupe, and having an S model you'll need to confirm brake clearance with the vendor. Since those are the only width/offsets available you could run the 20x10 +40 all around on 275/35/20 tires but will probably need a spacer to clear the brakes and possibly clear the steering knuckle on the inside.
Are those the only wheels she likes?
