The OFFICIAL "I have a wheel offset / tire fitment question!" thread

Thanks for the quick reply. Definitely don't want to do a square set up, just like the deeper concave look of the 10" wheel. Couple last things...
1. On the 20x9 up front, is the +35 or +25 the better way to go to get it "flush"? I don't want the front to poke out, but don't want it tucked way in either.
2. Would the wider 295/255 combo work/fit without issues or rubbing with the option B wheels?

Hi all,
I have a 2012 G37xS Coupe lowered on Swift Springs w/ SPC Front & rear camber kit & toe bolts.
My car came with the 19x8.5 +43 with 225/45/19 all around. I'm ready to upgrade wheels and tires now and have pretty much settled on the Rohana RF1 or RC10. Here's what I'm thinking and why...
Based on all the calculators I've tried, a 295/30/20 is only 0.01% different than the 225/45/19 that the car had originally. I want a flush fit, or as close to flush as possible. I want to go as wide as I can without rolling, pulling, or outside OE camber adjustments. Will the following work, and if not, where am I going wrong and what might you suggest?
The RF1 is only available in these sizes:
20x9 +25 or +35
20x10 +45
20x11 +28
Option A -
Front - 20x10 +45 255/35/20
Rear - 20x10 +45 295/30/20
Option B -
Front - 20x9 +35 245/35/20
Rear - 20x10 +45 285/30/20
Thanks very much!
On a side note, any way to change my screen name on here? I don't use forums much and have apparently set this up with my full name by mistake. Thanks

Glad to hear you have the camber/toe kits, that will make your tire's life easier
You could run the RF1s in option B and might want a spacer in back to bring it out a bit, you could also run the same 20x9 +25 in front and run the 20x11 +52 in back but be prepared to run a small spacer if you need a bit of clearance on the inside, it will be close so you may need one but not 100% sure.
Might also look at the Niche Essen, they have specs that will work w/ your coupe but will weight more (and cost less) than the rotary forged RF1s~a 20x9+25 on 245/35s and 20x10+40 on 285/30

Forgestar also makes deep concave setups and you can get custom offsets
Here's a list of what they offer
Evasive Motorsports | PH: 626.336.3400 Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm PST: Forgestar
Site Vendor GetYourWheels.com can also do custom finishes on most of their wheels, ask for Jason or Josh, they do a nice job for us.

If you went w/ those RF1s in a 20x11 +52 in back you could even run a 255/35 front 305/30 rear and still keep AWD compatibility, just might need that small spacer (maybe).

Hi @blnewt,
Thanks for such a detailed reply, I really appreciate it!!
I've found a local wheel and tire shop that is pretty helpful, but NO ONE anywhere seems to have good solid answers on what will or won't work with my car. You guys here are a lifesaver. Mike, at the local shop, is calling Rohana for me tomorrow to get some answers he wasn't able to provide, but I'm honestly more comfortable getting tips from y'all. I've got money in hand and I'm ready to get this done, just don't want to drop this kind of cash and not get what I want/need!
Based on your suggestions I'm narrowing down my search, but you've also put a new idea in my head with this 20x11. I honestly didn't think the 20x11 would fit, and until you mentioned the +52 offset I didn't know I could get it in that size. I've done some more research since reading your reply and now I'm wondering...
Option A -
Front - 20x10 +25 255/35/20
Rear - 20x11 +52 295/30/20 (considering 305 also)
**When you say small spacer, are we talking 5mm or did you have another number in mind? The shop I'm using is about an hour from me so I'd like to have them on hand just in case.
Option B -
Front - 20x9 +25 255/35/20
Rear - 20x11 +52 295/30/20 (considering 305 also)
Again, thanks so much for all your help. I'd like to have this figured out before Mike calls Rohana so they can just verify we're good and I can get things rolling.

Randy, there's plenty that run 10.5 +45s in back (usually on sedans) and they get them to fit without trouble, the 11 +52 will be about 13mm further in so if there's a bit more than a 1/2" with those running those 10.5 +45s you'll be good. The question is finding someone w/ those 10.5 +45s to verify how much more room there is. If you need a spacer I'd imagine it would be 10mm or less.
EDIT***Here's a G running 11 +45 on 305s

Here's his post, good info here~

So with his "less than a fingers width" to the inside sounds like a 5mm spacer would do the trick and basically put you at a 11 +47 which gives you an additional 2mm to play with at the fender.

Thanks again, blnewt! It's a lot to process, and honestly, my mind is swimming in numbers and combinations right now from all my research. I've been out most of the day and I'm exhausted, but I do appreciate your help. As it stands right now I'm thinking that I'll stay at the 295 for the first go around and run this set up -
Front - 20x10 +25 255/35/20
Rear - 20x11 +52 295/30/20
That should work, right?
As for the spacers, I'm thinking that with the 295 I probably won't need them, but may ask the dealer if he can have a set on standby that can be returned just in case.

OK, so I'm finally thinking about getting some new wheels. I have the x-coupe lowered on swift springs. No plans to go lower. I want to stick with 18's but also looking at 19's. This is my daily driver with no plans to track/auto-x. Currently have 245/45's.
My head is spinning searching for exact match to the few offsets I have found. I have used the wheel calculator but could use some professional advice.
Looking at 8.5 +20 but am afraid that might poke or look awkward at my ride height.
Also looking at 8.5 +33 but feel that might still be tucked too much.
Lastly looking at 9 +30 which is what I am leaning towards the most.
Thanks in advance for anyones suggestions! - Matt
