Wheel spacers??

Okay I bought a new set of the stock G37 wheels as a back up set for my G and it currently has 20" BOSS wheels on it. When I removed the 20's to test fit the Ray's 19's I found this.....

Should I leave these on the hubs with the stock 19's? or will there be a problem if I do that? I really don't want to find out I should have taken them off when my wheels fly off the car at some point....

Spacers look fine... seems like the Boss were an offset that needed these to be Flush... putting on the Rays shouldn't be an issue... some guys here put in 15mm spacers even 20 to make the rims sit flush ...

Ive yet to use spacers but I know here due to reading that a lot use them... they are safe just get them torqued checked and you'll roll just fine...

Question as I keep reading your questions...did you buy the car used? Did you buy the boss rims? If the Boss rims were on prior that makes sense... but if you bought the rims the shop would tell you about the spacers added for clearance. Imo

Also I see you have Akebono brakes yet the offset of the Boss probably didn't clear the brakes hitting them hence too the spacers to clear our larger brakes...

Yes, I bought the car with the Boss wheels on it already and didn't know about the spacers. I assumed that they were spacers needed to clear the calipers but wasn't sure if I should ditch them for the OE wheels or not. I suppose they will make a rotor change just that much more lengthy lol

I would actually remove those spacers and buy some H&R spacers. The spacers on their currently look to be universal ones, which I would highly recommend to avoid.

Holy huge spacer Batman. What are the offsets of the stock wheels you got? I'm a G35 guy so I'm not familiar with these specs yet. I ran 25mm spacers on my OEM 19s for years and never had any issues. I know that anything over that though causes extra wear on the wheel bearings. I would assume that the G37 would be the same. So just to be safe I would recommend measuring them before you put the stock wheels on. It does make it look WAAAAAAAY better when it's flush though. Herrasunk is no bueno.

Well if you ditch those spacers you'll need to replace them with others...if no spacers your Boss rims wont fit without them...
Stock Rays will work without them anyhow... they are made for our cars...
But too if they are the Universal ones...again I can only go by what the others have said ... never used them just reading on the search functions...
Just be cautious...and Safe...

Happy Modding!

I would remove them as well. As you can see they are not hub centric spacers sothey could cause vibrations. If you are unhappy about the offset of the stock wheels than get hub centric wheel spacers.

What those who are recommending you change out your spacers really mean is use spacers from a well known manufacturer such as H&R or Eibach. They make quality parts; they fit the way they are supposed to; they use the highest quality material; they are hub centric; they meet the highest quality specs. used in Europe for aftermarket parts; and both are a known quantity for quality and have been around for more years than most of us can count. Don't skimp on these, period.
