Brand new car with out of round rim?
After chasing a balance issue for 2 weeks, and then a roadforce gsp9700 balance by the dealer I'm told I have an out of round rim.
As in 'egg type' looking at the face, not an in-out wobble.
Not hit even one pothole or curb, just how easy is it to bend a wheel in that direction and shape?
They say it can't be warranteed and are willing however to pick up the tab for correcting it - just what can be done and am I going to be able to tell?

Hey,
Congratulations with your new car. That's really unfortunate about the rim. I could be wrong here, but I don't know if correcting a non-round rim is the way to go. It's possible that it could fix the problem or it might only make it a little better and you will continue to have a vibration or tire issues due to uneven pressure. If you are sure that it came from the dealer this way I would try to be a little more demanding. Did you contact them about it right away? If so, they knew this was an issue and might be more liable to fix it. If nothing helps you get a new rim, I would seriously consider biting the bullet and buying a new rim.
What are everyone else's thoughts?

Definitely have it replaced! How new is the car? If they don't want to replace the wheel tell them you don't want the car! How could you POSSIBLY have made the wheel deform into an egg shape without there being visible and significant damage to the wheel?! Sounds like it is a manufacturing defect and if they don't replace the wheel, they can have it back and to return your down payment!
