Trying to get wheel info on G37S sport (winter driving)

Hi all,

Being located in Quebec, we are subject to the law that we must all have winter tires on our vehicle. Even without that, considering the condition of our roads and the amount of snow, it is almost a must.

Having said that, I'm trying to find what dimensions are needed for wheels to clear the big front brakes of the S model. I can't imagine that I'm the only person on the board that has had to deal with this, so I'm curious as to the following:

1) Wheel dimensions, offset, bolt pattern, etc, that will clear the big brakes
2) What are you guys running in a smaller wheel for winter driving

Haha, yeah I wish.

lol, it's becoming a bit frustrating to me; I've called a few shops and no one seems to have any solid info, and they all want to sell me tires at $400 a pop, which is a bit crazy, an to be avoided.

Bridgestone blizzak lm60(found this by using search) for the fronts there is not big difference what tires you pick. More important for rear.. Michelin x-Ice north I think will do it... that is from my own research. Us rear wheel drivers need really grippy tires.

18x8 wheels with 225/50/18. I cannot recall the offset.

Go to tirerack.com and select winter packages. They will show you wheel size, etc.

I am in the same boat as u..
I know that the smaller you can go is 225/50/18 all around
The best winter tire out there are the nokian and got quoted 1700$ with 4 black rims.
Most of the g owners here use blizzak lm60 but most dont live in QC like us so im not sure if those tires are built for our winters :s
I bought the car with a set of lm 60's that came on my 19's so I'll give it a try but I will still keep some money aside for the nokian just in case..
Btw bolt pattern is 5x114.3
Hope that helps

i think i saw a thread on here some guy put a set of enkei's EKM3 18x8 +40 on his G. I have the exact same wheels left over from my last car that I'm planning on putting some blizzaks on this winter. It looked like they cleared the sport brakes just fine.

Perfect, thanks guys.

I wanted to find dimensions of rims so I could hopefully find a set of used/cheap rims to save some cash, and then get decent tires mounted on it.

I'll post up here definitive numbers once I get something on and cleared.

I too have the sport model with the big brake kit. i fully understand the pain. mounting winter tires on our 19" rims was way to expensive to do. so i just used 18" sport infiniti rims. i have a few extra sets of these rims. they are the 18" g37s sedan rims. at 18" tires run about $150-$200

Hankook tires: $167.00/each with free delivery
Tire Details - Discount Tire Direct

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, I FEW SETS OF INFINITI RIMS THAT WILL CLEAR YOUR BIG BRAKE KIT. let me know.

i think that was me:

I ended up mounting 2xx/55-18 perelli winter tires all around on the 'winter' rims to help elevate the vehicle a little. It actually raised the car a tad over the stock rims & tires so piles of snow wont be an issue for her as much now!

You should always match tires when driving with winter tires. Mismatched tires will lead to unpredictable handling. The "grippy" rear tires will not help if you're slamming on your brakes with all-season front tires or bald tires. You're gonna skid all the way into the tree, car, curb, building etc in front of you.

As suggested prior, go to tirerack.com and select winter packages. The smallest wheel you can fit is 18 inch.

lol yes indeed GTLAW, you are right. Looks like I'm looking at 18x8 with a +35 to +40 offset. Going to try a fitting soon.

So other than the 18" G37S sport sedan rims, do any other stock rims from the G37 or G35 fit over the sport brakes?

Im in the same boat, I have the 19" stock rims and are looking for a winter setup. I figured Id try used on here before getting a brand new set from tirerack.
