Vossen wheel damaged by FedEx, repaired by me =)

First off I just wanna thank Jay(BooSa37) for selling me an awesome set of wheels.

Wheels showed up today, packaged awesome, last one I opened was damaged as you can see in the pic below. I first went to a body shop that I have do all my paint work. They didn't wanna mess with it, said the paint wouldn't hold up. So i googled some wheel paint. Came up with Rustoleum wheel paint. Graphite was a close match. Also picked up Rustoleum clear and wet sand paper. Took me about 2 hours when all said in done but well worth it. Can't even tell it was damaged. Ruined day turned around.

How come you didn't wanna just file a claim?

I contacted my FedEx rep directly as I ship about 300 packages with them a day. Filing a claim only pays a maximum of $100 unless you insured the package. I'm still going back and forth with my FedEx rep but I would rather get the wheels on the car. Luckily it was on the edge and was pretty easy to repair.

If the only "damage" to an automotive wheel during shipping is some minor chips on the surface, it probably could have been avoided altogether with better packaging by Jay (BooSa37). Packages tend to get tossed around during shipping, (damn jerks!).

Glad you got it fixed to your satisfaction.

Actually Jay packaged it very well. Had Foam around the wheel. Something punctured the box, ripped a hole in it and looks like it was riding next to it on the truck. Got nicked about 5 times. It all comes down to lazy FedEx workers that are 9-5 idiots that don't have pride in their job. And no I don't think this about all of them. Every company has them.

I bought these off Jay which he had the staggered set up. I plan on switching the front two out in a couple months.
