AWD with different size spacers and tires?

Did I read this right? You have an Coupe X AWD and you went with such an aggressive set-up? Is this not recommend for X drive? From what I hear you need to be careful on an X drive as you can really screw up the x drive system and it's costly to repair. Not to mention that your highway ride could be dangerous according to some?

Different tire sizes on an AWD?

Specs are front = 20 X 9.5 +13 R-Disk / rear = 20 X 10.5 +16 O-Disk
Work Gnosis -Gs2 in BKB (burning black)

Tires are Hankook V12's 245/35-20 and 285/30-20 my car is AWD. Rear Fenders were pulled about 1/2 cm and running -1.5 camber front and -2.00 camber rear. May lower and camber rears more but I am happy with the setup right now.

Car runs nice - ride is actually smoother that my winter setup on Blizzak's and stock 18's I'm also dropped on BC coils (for the time being - looking into a custom coil/cup kit in the future).

Sorry car was a bit dirty but it is all washed up now!

So... wanted to post more pictures but got flooded with a massive rainstorm last week and car's even dirtier than ever (but no engine/flood damage luckily!) I'm planning to take it to my buddy to get it washed and detailed either this weekend or next.

Hey xorbitman I believe this is okay I've done a lot of research on the AWD and running a staggered/aggressive set-up. Basically, as long as the wheel rolling diameters are the same they are okay. I am running 245/35 and 285/30 as mentioned earlier and the difference is minimal (about (-0.07%)).

If another member can chime in if I posted anything incorrect that would be great! I know there aren't as many AWD models as there are sports.

Thanks!

How are you able to drive over speed bumps without bottoming out?

Thanks!
Well I have admit it looks awesome and if it works that's amazing. I guess the one thing that we have in our favor with respect to x is that unless you use the snow mode, the regular mode of our system starts as a rear wheel drive and progressively shifts the power to the front if there is a loss of traction.

How much did you drop the car by and on your BC coils? I would love a K-sport coil-over that uses a bladder system as air suspension that is controlled by computer (Digital). Goes up 2"in 1 sec...the whole 4" in 2 - 4 seconds depending on weight. That's much better than traditional bladders cause there is a maximum drop that is inherent in the way its designed. The car will never touch the ground even if the compressor is empty. The stay at the height that you program in. And you can raise it over speed bumps in parking lots and high curbs etc. Also since you're on coils, are you able to raise yours for winter driving? In Canada, the xS model comes with 19" Enkei wheels. 9J in the rear. I'm thinking of eventually going with wider tires once the OEMs are worn out and lowering them on coils just an 1"drop just like the drop on springs so I won't rub and won't need a camber kit. So I was wondering what you think of this: 15 in the front and 20 in the rear H & R wheel spacers? Do you thing I could 20 front and 30 rear or is to aggressive?

hey fellas new to the g37 scene but looking to make a few upgrades this year. I have a new set of t1s 20x9.5 F &20x10.5 R offset 25mm all round. what would I have to do to fit this on an 08 coupe without rubbing and ride issues ( tires, camber, rolling, etc).. I also have an order in for some BC/BR coils for a drop or should I just do springs. wanna drop about 1-2" all round. advice much app...DOMO

Depends on the tire width, but those offsets look pretty good for the coupe. Not sure how wide you can go w/ that offset, hopefully one of the coupe guys can chime in.

Coils FTW, you can get just the height you want and have some flexibility in damping force.

BTW, welcome!
