Hi there fellas,
I've bought me a salvaged Infiniti G37s Sedan 2009. Its my first rear wheel drive car and first big ride.
But I'm thinking about lowering the car on Tein S-tech lowering springs and i wuz wondering about the tire sizes. When i saw them i wuz like..huh? 225/50/18 in the front and 245/45/18 in the back! I said this cant be right so i decided to look up in the manual and saw that this is the proper setup.
So that's new to me also... but what i wuz wondering wuz that i need to buy new tires anyway and since I'm lowering the car. cant the tires be 245/45/18 all around? or is there something i don't know about here.
any info would be appreciated.

Stagger setup.
The reason they are different sizes is because of the rim sizes differ. You can have 245/45/18 but then your speedometer is going to be off about 2-3 miles.

Oh ok... because is wuz lookin at the 225/50/18 and that tire looks a bit bubbly to me to have in the front...always loved low profile but that 50 in the front just kills it IMO...
but the only issue is gonna be that the speedometer is gonna be a bit of then... hmmmmm

Since you already have 245/45/18 on the rear, it will not change your speedo by putting 245/45/18 on the front...but the sidewall will look more bulging than the 225/50/18 already does. The wheel width on the front is narrower than the rear.

225/50/18 and 245/45/18 are almost identical in tire height...

but will it look good if i drop it? cuz im still gonna lower the car no matter what...

It will look even more bulging than the rear because of the wheel width difference.
It will look a little odd....if you want 245 all around, you really need the same size wheel all around.

just leave the size as is. like someone else said, the sidewall height is almost identical for 225/50/18 and 245/45/18. dropping it or not doesn't change how the tire looks. if you want a lower profile tire, either get 19s that are the same width all around and get 245/40/19 tires.

18's all the way 225/50/18 front and 245/45/18 back!

Here's a thread I posted a few years ago. I had staggered wheels on our 07 G35, same size rims & tires as yours. I went w/ 235/50/18s on all 4 corners, the 2nd page of the thread has pics, they worked out just fine and it'll open up a lot more tire choices, that front tire size isn't too common.
245/45/18 or 235/50/18 on all four corners? - G35Driver

Are those wheels 7.5 in front and 8.5 in the rear?
It looks a little odd with the front tires bulging out more on the front than the rear.
How does that affect handling? It will have more sidewall flex on the front than the rear.

Yes, they were the sport wheels for 2007 (7.5"F 8.5"R). The sidewall bulge wasn't really too noticeable and I ran them for 30k miles without any issues, the tires wore evenly and handled great for an all-season tread. I sold the G to a friend and they now have the same 235/50/18s on all fours w/ Falken tires now.
