Wheel & Tire Brand(s) Chosen - Help With Sizing?

After MUCH deliberation, I have decided to go with the MRR GT1 Black w/ Machined Lip wheel on either the Hankook V12 or Michelin Pilot SS.

I live in NC and my 2009 G37XS PG sedan is my daily driver, and soon my work commute will be all of 1 mile.

I am lowered on Eibach Pro Kit, and this weekend I am adding the Energy Suspension mod to the rear to level the drop.

I have never modded a car like I have this one, and I have never put on new wheels or tires that were not OEM. I am a little nervous about losing performance since I have been investing so much in the performance aspect, but I also want limited wheel gap and I want a flush look (w/ spacers as needed) width wise. I am willing to run staggered, but only within the recommended ratio since I have AWD. I do not want to do fender work.

Recommendation 1: 20" or 19" wheels?

Recommendation 2: Staggered or Non-Staggered?

Recommendation 3: Wheel Size(s) & Offset?

Recommendation 4: Tire Size(s)?

Recommendation 5: Spacer size? (If needed)

Thanks so much for your help guys, it's nice to know you have help before spending so much hard earned $$$.

I'd go w/ non staggered 20s, although the offsets will probably be a bit different from front to rear for a flush setup (the tires are cheaper for 20s and 20s fill the wheel wells perfect on a lowered G).
I'd get offsets to flush the tires rather than spacers, safer too!
245/35/20 is what I have on my RWD, common size so tires will be easy to find and shouldn't cost too much w/ that size.
Someone else should be able to help w/ offsets, somewhere in the mid 20s seems to be what they're running.

I have a 2009 G37x that is my daily driver. My goal was to preserve the ride quality and performance as much as possible while improving the look of the car. I also wanted to be able to rotate my tires and didn't want ANY possible issues with my AWD (warranty related or otherwise). So the following is what I decided was best for me.....

Recommendation 1: 20" or 19" wheels? 19" If you are maintaining the overall diameter of the OEM tires, the size of the wheel will have no affect on how effectively it fills in the wheel well.

Recommendation 2: Staggered or Non-Staggered? Non-staggered - so I can rotate the tires and for AWD.

Recommendation 3: Wheel Size(s) & Offset? 19" x 9" and 35 offset

Recommendation 4: Tire Size(s)? 245/40/19 Hankook V12

Recommendation 5: Spacer size? (If needed) Depends

Just my $0.02,
RJ

The overall diameter of the OEM tires is what's important, you can achieve this w/ 19 or 20" wheels. 245/35/20 still retains the same diameter as the stock 17s.

Thinking of running this setup. Thoughts?

20x8.5 245/35/20 +38
20x10 285/30/20 +43

Also may need to run a 10mm spacer in the front to clear the brakes?

FYI - Charles @ b2autodesigns is researching for me to ensure brake clearance and spacer needs. If anyone has any information to help, would be appreciated.

Since you have an XS (and not the RWD S) you have the regular brakes (not the bigger brake setup) brake clearance shouldn't be an issue. I've got +38 offset rims and clear the brakes w/ a lot of room to spare. The 285s may stick out a bit, not sure though BTW, B2 Autodesigns is a great vendor, he's helped me out too

Blnewt.....thank you brother, you just saved a newb a lot of trouble. Those brakes seemed big to me, so when asked if I had big brake, I said yes!

Hi Jeremy,

I am running wheel specs similar to what you wrote in post #7.
I have 20x8.5 ET37 with 245-35-20 & 20x10 ET48 with 275-30-20, Hankook Ventus K110 V12. No spacers.
I threw in a few pics for you to see it.
It's on Eibach Prokit # 6390.140. 1.5" Front and 1.2" Rear with no aftermarket camber kits.

I added a couple close-up wheel shots to show you what we mean by BBK.
Offsets are important for achieving a flush look but offsets will never be a guaranteed indicator of whether or not a wheel will clear a big brake setup.

Cheers

I've got BBK envy
Yep Jeremy, if your brakes don't have "Infiniti" on the calipers they're the baby brakes

I felt that way for the 4 years I had my 07X. Just could bring my self to spend the money for them aftermarket. Around here they cost an arm and 2 legs.

fwiw, you did a great job enhancing your stock brakes...best I've seen.

Thanks, appreciate the kind words (as I'm skimming the classifieds right now for used G37S/370Z Akebonos)

Okay, I am about to pull the trigger on this setup. Am I within diameter range to run staggered on AWD? (Don't know how to calculate this) Note that I dropped my tire from a 285 to 275.

(2) 20x8.5 MRR GT1 Gloss Black With Polished Lip w/ +38 offset on 245/35/20 Hankook V12 tires

(2) 20x10 MRR GT1 Gloss Black With Polished Lip w/ +43 offset on 275/30/20 Hankook V12 tires

Thanks guys - almost there!

Thank you very much for the time you put into your reply. You really helped me, and convinced me to drop my tire size to 275. I will be putting on the SPC F/R Camber Kits w/ Toe Bolt as well.

Can't wait to upload pictures to properly thank everyone for their help!
