Ordering some 18" Volks need help with offset/fitment
Hey guys I know it's not the best idea to ask randomly on forums about if this will or won't fit, but I'm getting differing data from multiple vendors on fitments and wheel sizes. But I want to order soon and would appreciate the help from the wheel junkies.
SO here is the dilemma after contacting a few vendors I wanted the Volks in a flush fitment but I want them in 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 to insure I can fit some serious tire if need be.
3 Different vendors 3 different opinions.
Vendor 1: 18x9.5 +22/18x10.5 +25 (Fender modification required)
Vendor 2: 18x8.5 +35/18x9.5 +35 (Says this is the maximum allowable fitment for 18's)
Vendor 3: 18x9.5 +22 / 18x10.5 +27 (No mention of Fender modification)

coupe and sedan sizing are different
if coupe:
9.5 +22 in the front should be fine with mild spring drop like eibachs
10.5 +25 in the rear would require a somewhat low/aggressive drop achieved from coils or really low springs
if youre trying to run setup from vendor 1 or 3 youll need a coil or very low spring drop (adjustable camber arms too) w/out pulling fenders (rears are rolled already).
you should be able to run setup 2 without any modifications
someone please correct me if im wrong

i totally missed the part about flushness
i believe 9.5 +22 Front and 10.5 +35 rear should sit about flush on a mild drop. the beauty of coils, aside from the handling, is that you can lower the height to suck in/camber in the tires if necessary. you just gotta be careful about rubbing and stuff.
those tires sound good (i think 245 is more common) with specs like #1/#3 however youll need a coil drop and camber arms

I would go with coils but for now I've gotta figure out how everything is going to fit pre drop with the wheels. I'll look like a 4x4 for a while, my Zele exhaust sits kinda low by design, not sure if it hangs that low on a 370z but since it was made to fit my car it is just low, so I don't wanna chance damaging that all. I'm glad to know the +22 would work on the front, now my worry is the +27 or +25 10.5 fitment, as it sounds like they are the only options I have for the 10.5...this would be a lot easier if this was a 19" setup then I could follow the tried and true offsets. SMH
I know the hellaflush look is popular on the G37 but I like the fat tire race ready look. This is the kinda look I'm going for.

Good to see some members still care about function!
The fronts will be perfect (may rub slightly), for the rears I wouldn't go below 35mm on a 10.5" wheel

That and when I had my 350z it was a huge difference, my stock 17's put down way better 1/4 mile times than my 19" volks, even though they had more meat to grip, the overall extra width and weight didn't help me. Until I got gears all the bolt ons I threw on a year later equated to the exact same quarter times as my stock 17's. Needless to say...a little disheartening, but they sure were pretty. lol
For this car I want a balance, the titanium exhaust shed some pounds, as did the ART pipes and gave it a little more flow. I want to lighten what I can without killing the comfort, going to an 18 will allow me to fit more tire and keep the weight low if not equal to the stock thinner tire setup. As well as having less diameter to turn and the sidewall will still aid in being an impact barrier as opposed to hard thin sidewalls.
Next will be seats, and that will probably be all for the lightening aspect.

I think so I've had a good amount of seat time in recaros and have always found their reclinable lines pretty comfortable for a seat. The SR7's are what I have my eyes on. Most of the vendors post the special edition ASM combos that are near 3 grand a piece. But standard SR7's can be had for just over a g.

So as an update I recieved my G2's in 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 and wrapped them in GForce Sport Comp 2's. The difference is very noticeable the car feels a lot more agile and feels very light, turning effort also feels a ton easier with the 18's.
I know the Pilot Super Sports have a lot of great reviews but for a more affordable option these things are impressive. Even brand new their grip is like claws, I had my car aligned to be less cambered for a more flat setup since I won't see a real "track" anytime soon, I maximized the stock setup for straight line acceleration in case I do get the chance to visit the drag strip anytime soon. With these Sport comps I can hammer through first on a turn and bang it into second and not even get a squeal or a chirp, can't say that much for the Eagle F1's I had before them.

It does aggravate the wheel gap having smaller rims, but when I get the cheese for coilovers I'll take some more shots. As of right now I'm drained dry, decided on a Cuga waiting for it to get here. Probly shoulda opted for suspension first...shrug.

Personally I love the look and the performance difference really offset the extra inch to me. I think as long as you stick to colors that aren't too dark the rims don't look too small.
