2009 G37x wheel fitment
Hi all,
Sorry if this is a double post - looks like my first one didn't take.
I'm new to the G37 world having come from a 2006 Mustang GT. What an upgrade the G is. I'm hooked!
I'm looking for winter wheels and rubber for next year. There's a local guy selling a screaming deal on a set of 350z rims. They're 17" x 8" with a 20mm offset. Near as I can tell, this size pushes the rims 3/4" out. My question for you all is - will it work? Or will it look too mexican and present rubbing issues?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. I recommend 35% and the biggest chromed tips you can find.
I came from a 2000 Mustang GT.
The 17 & 18 wheels for the G35/7x have 45mm offset. Honestly, I'd pass and try to find some 17/18 Infiniti take-offs. 20 will look kinda funny and may rub if you get enough **** in the back or go over a big enough bump.
I once bought a used 3 series that had 5 series wheels on them. They had 12-15mm offset and 17's for the 3series typically had 41mm offset. They stuck out enough that there was bad rubbing if more than one person sat in the back (and the trunk was empty). Now, that car didn't have the huge fender like the G has, but the wheels did still stick out too far and were problematic enough that I got rid of them pretty quickly.
Also, I'd recommend poking around the V36 forum at g35driver in addition to this one. Their sedan folks seem a bit more active, and the only real difference between your 09 and their 07-08s are better door handles and a bigger engine.

Thanks for the feedback. Your advice is much appreciated! The Mustangs have loads of personality and they're a blast. But these are a little more... refined. Glad I switched.
