Red face Wheel spacers F&R size difference?

I've been reading about wheel spacer sizes for the last week. I just purchased the Eibach PK springs and need to make a decision as to what spacers I want to get. I'm staying with my factory 19s and the regular tires that come with our cars. I've seen many, many, and many beautiful pictures of other guys' rides here who have used 20mm spacers all around, using the same setup as I intend to.

When my current tires go out, I'll be upgrading to 245F/275R. My problem is, I've noticed that the rear tires stick out more than the front, and I don't know if I like that. Is that the way it's supposed to be? Also, I don't really want any rubbing at all.

I was thinking about future-proofing my setup and get 15mm all around, so when I get meatier tires, I won't hear the tires scraping the insides of my car...

Will it look odd if I get the rear spacers thinner than the front? Say, 20mm F and 15mm R?

I just got my 08G37S Coupe 6MT about 1.5 months ago and love it!

Thanks in advance for any assistance provided!

Eibach drop

Well, I finally got my eibach springs installed! I decided to go with H&R 15mm spacers all around, but they will be delivered next week. So for now, the G is dropped but all tucked in...

Rear wheel, all tucked in. No spacers after the Eibach drop:

Front wheel with no spacer after the drop. It does look like it needs a thicker spacer than the rear:

Spacers are in!

After installing the spacers, and a nice wash&wax!

A little closer. Maybe the front is slightly tucked in, but I like the way it looks overall. And what's more important, no rubbing!

I was going to get 20mm all around, but I'm planning on getting meatier tires in the future and didn't want to rub. Uploading pics at this time...

It depends on the size of your tires. If you're running a staggered setup, ie. larger rear wheels, then go with 20 fr/15 rear. Back before I upgraded my wheels I was running 245/40/19 front-275/35/19 rear and had 15mm all around. The rear sat perfectly flush and never rubbed but the fronts were slightly tucked in a little more than I liked.

Thanks Devildog. Let's see how it goes with the 15s. If I don't like it, I'll then get 20s for the front. As you can see, I had asked that question on my first post, but no one answered, so I went with what I tought was safe: 15mm all around. I figured even if the front is still tucked in a little, a difference of 5mm against having 20mm spacers wouldn't be noticeable by many.

Does anybody have pics of their car on 15s or 20s? Also for those of you with 20s, have you noticed significantly more road debris being kicked up on the side of the car because of the spacers?

I'm in the market for spacers but I'm having trouble deciding on a size. I DEFINITELY don't want anything that causes the wheels to stick out further than the fenders. I guess the perfect spacer would put my wheels SLIGHTLY less than flush with the fenders...that way I'll have a more-aggressive-than-stock look without having too much road crap kicked up on the side of the car and without it looking too ricey (IMHO of course). Given that, would you guys recommend 15s or 20s?

Sorry to hijack your thread man OP lol

Dr Pat, no need to apologize, you aren't hijacking anything. We're all here to help each other, besides, you're still on topic..

I should be getting my 15mm spacers either Friday or Monday. I'll post pics as soon as I get them installed, that will give you a reference as to what 15s look like. I, as you, didn't want my wheels sticking out of the fenders, that's the reason why I decided to go 15s...just in case.

I just took some pics from the sides, which will show how weird the wheels look all tucked in, without spacers I'll post them as soon as I get a chance tonight.

Taste1h, you won't regret it. I picked the Eibachs because I didn't want a huge drop, something nice that would get rid of the 'tractor look' I wish the front dropped 1.75, or even 2 full inches when settled, but even now I just 'rubbed' the bottom of the front bumper at a parking lot exit I never had issues before the drop. I guess I now need to be more careful. But you'll like it, don't know if is psychological, but I don't feel that much difference, if any, from stock quality ride. It handles a bit better even.

Also, I tested the car and it's not pulling to either side after the drop, so an alignment shouldn't be necessary, maybe camber adjustment, but we'll see.

With stock tires 20MM is perfect, I did 15MM, but just wasnt enough, sold the 15s. stayed with 20s.
25MM is too rice with stock tires.

Below: Eibach drop with another 1/2" cut from the rear spring cushion.
15MM rear, 20MM front, but I have 275 and 245, causing a bigger stagger.
With that setup, my track front to rear is dead even.

This may be a dumb question...but how easy is it to install the spacers? From reading other threads, I think I'm gonna go with the H&R spacers. Do they just slide on, put on the wheel and use the stock lug nuts to bolt on the wheel? Or do the spacers get bolted on to the hub and then the wheels get bolted on to the spacer? Or are both completely wrong? lol

Added a couple of pics showing the "tucked in" look we get if we drop our Gs and don't add a spacer...
