Are there any downsides from going from 225 50 18 to 225 45 18?

thanks

there might be issues with the speedo and traction control but you would get better answers in the tires/wheels sub-forum.

speedo will be slightly off and wheel gap will slightly increase due to smaller overall diameter/circumference.

It will be very very minimal on the speedo and wheel gap. The ride quality will be a little less, but handling a little better.
