Black Steel Wheel Fitment Question

So i scored a good deal on a set of slightly used Snow Tires for the G, but didn't have any rims with it. I went to pick up some Black Steelies from Canadian Tire (kind of like Pep Boys in the states), and the system shows a rim size of 17 x 6.5, 5 x 114.3

I've got a 2010 G37x Sedan, and the stock wheels i believe are 17 x 7.5, 5 x 114.3.

It looks like there is enough room between the caliper and the rim to compensate for this 1 inch difference, can anybody confirm if i'll be ok with the 17 x 6.5 steele wheel?

Thanks.

Yes, they are just fine. I have the same 17x6.5" winter wheels on my G. You might get a better price at Costco.

According to their website, CT recommends and sells 17 x 7.5, 5 x 114.3 for $89.99 each.
Did they recommend 6.5" because of the particular tires your 'scored'. What size are they?

Regardless, narrower is better for winter driving so if the 6.5" fit then go for it.

You are near me, I also recommend you call Bast Tire in N. Waterloo and ask Devin what he can get for you.

The tires i got were 225/55/17, same size as OEM. I questioned the clerk at CT, and he showed me on there computer that all they list is the 17 x 6.5, 5 x 114.3

The regular price was actually $89.99, and i got them on sale for $59.99. So all around i think it's a good deal. Last night i pulled off a wheel, and test fitted the Steel Wheel to make sure they fit before mounting the tires. They fit, with very minimal clearance on the caliper. So it looks like all is good, i'll be getting them mounted tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the advice.

its no sure shot, of course the wheel width plays a part, but caliper clearence is more often then not in the offset and spoke design (or "wheel design" for a steelie)

example
if stock is 17x7.5 +35 (i have no clue what it is)
and the steelie is 17x6.5 +50, your probably screwed.
if the steelie was 17x6.5 -10 youd clear it by a mile

Online Wheel & Tyre Fitment calculator. Offset and Tyre Stretch is an excellent tire/wheel fitment resource.
