I'm looking at tires for a used 09 G37x sedan (non-sport, 17") I bought 2 months ago... I've heard many good things about the General G-MAX AS-03, and another set which i'm looking at is Kumho Ecsta 4x. Does anyone have experience with these? The Generals are backordered on tirerack (i guess they're really that popular). I haven't heard much about the Kumhos and i'm not sure about Kumho the brand in general, but these performed very similarly to the Generals and actually outscored the Generals in Tirerack's tests. anyone has experience with these 2 manufacturers and/or these specific tires for this size?

FYI I live in the Northeast which is why i'm looking for All-Seasons, and I don't want to deal with winter tires as I don't have a garage to do it myself

Neither one has seen a winter yet so you're taking a snow gamble. Kumhos will last a tad longer and ride somewhat quieter, Generals do well in the wet and have slightly better dry grip and response.

 

thanks, i decided to give the Kumhos a shot and will be installing them this weekend, will update once i test them out a bit

 

Anyone have updates on either of these 2 tires? Deciding between them for my '09 G37x Non-Sport. Leaning towards the Ecsta 4X, but user reviews seem very positive for both. I've only seen a few negative comments...some said Ecsta's had a harsh ride, others saying General's were loud. Thanks in advance.
