Quote I got for Spring and alignment on my IPL, Seems Really High!

Granted this place usually works on high end german cars and they have done good work on my 08 Cayman, I was a little shock to find out they would think it would be a 7.5 hour job including alignment.
Is there anything on this quote seem reasonable from labor to product cost or is everything seem high?

Sorry, this is my 1st Infiniti and 1st Japanese car so I really don't know??

In case the attachment is too small to read....

7.5 hrs for Eibach PK and Alignment @ $80/HR Labor = $600
Eibach PK Springs = $250
H&R 20mm Spacers (4) = $299

Total plus Tax = $1200

Where do you live?

You are being charged too much for labor on the spring install. Labor only for a spring install varies depending on your location and the shop you use, but anywhere for $200 to $400 is about what you should expect. The cost for alignment varies, but you should wait several days for your springs to settle before getting alignment anyway.

I live in Columbus Ohio, they also said on the quote....
"Eibach PK lowers non IPL Coupes 1.2" Front and 1" Back, but since IPL Package is lower then non IPL cars then only less then a 1" Front and .50" Back" ???

I didn't think IPL are lower then regular G's are they? I just thought it was a tighter suspension, does that sound right?

price for eibach is pretty good. the shipping just makes it normal...
youre overcharged $40 for the spacers. i picked mine up at stillen saved shipping.
my strut and spring install was $120 for labor...
spacers are super easy to install and if a shop does it, chances are theyre gonna do it wrong unless they know what their doing. you have to hand torque it. or gun it down incrementally.
alignments go b/w $60-100
so yea... yorue over estimated

BB brought up a good point. you should wait around 2 weeks for the springs to settle in. if you do it immediately afterwards, youre gonna have to do it again soon after.

Dunno about the height of the IPL. It sounds reasonable though. I don't think the shop would make up something like that, did they get that info from Eibach?

The labor rate isn't that high for a good shop, they're charging too many hours. I did an Eibach install in my driveway in stifling heat Tuesday and even with several unexpected delays it didn't take me anywhere near 6 hours. Tell them you'll pay for no more than 4. $120 for the alignment isn't terrible but not great either. That's about what a dealership might charge. A competent local alignment shop might charge as little as $70 or so.

If only you lived in Houston I could hook you up for far less.

They're ripping you off man, you're paying way too much. Smile and walk away from that shop, go to a different one PLease.

A good shop should take no more than 2 hours to install Eibach Springs.

any shop that hasnt done this on an Infiniti will give an estimate based on 6 hours plus alignement but it doesnt take 6 hours, 2.5 at the most. If they are trustworthy they will charge you for 2.5. I have done this mod this spring and i got quotes from local shops and they all quoted based on 6 hrs. I ended up doing it at the dealership and they charged 2.5 hrs.

I had never done anything along those lines to a car and it only took me 3 hours to do, and that was with a trip to a shop to have the springs switched on the front struts. You can get a MUCH better deal

Try Slomotion Motor Sports in the CBUS area. A lot of people on G35Driver can get you a much better rate. Send me a PM and I'll get some contact info to you.
