Volk Formula Lugs rant

If you have to take off your wheel more than twice the caps for each lug suck, First of all the key they give you is made of plastic and pretty much gets destroyed after just a couple times using it for all wheels.

I think I paid 350.00 for these lug nuts, my car is at the shop right now getting work done. My Rims needed to come off and 4 of the caps on these things where stuck and would not come off. After trying a bigger alan key, and an hour of messing with it 2 gave but we had to drill 2 out.

I talked to forged performance to see about getting some new black caps for my set and they cost 11.00 a piece just for the cap and then air shipping from Japan.

Needless to say I can see all of them wearing out eventually and do not wish to go down the road of replacing 11.00 caps over and over again.

If anyone has some black caps they want to sell let me know, I think I may just switch to standard Rays lugs.

Under normal usage (2 times off and on) and the key is destroyed , 3-4 caps destroyed or non usable you would think they would replace under warranty.

buyer beware this crap.

Fantastic company, horribly crappy product. They should discontinue these. People will soon come to realize (like you have) that this isn't a product for everyday use, but only for shows.

It gets better. Once you start running them without the caps, they collect water and will rust out and totally eff up your studs possibly to the point where you destroy both removing it and have to replace the stud too. Good times. Never again!

They are better but had the same problem with a set of Kics. Basically any open ended lug if you do not cake it with axel grease will mess up eventually.

Because they are open ended water can collect and just sit in there and rust out the stud and lug. Then it seizes up and mess up the stud or lug or both. So I found if you just smear some axle grease or something on the inside or all over the stud before you put them on it will help protect it from rusting out.
