[chicago] great wheel install! (tsw)
Forgive if you've seen this cross-posted, but I want to tell as many Chicagoland-area members as possible (especially those of you in the western Chicago suburbs) about a GREAT experience I had at:
NTB
9850 Joliet Rd
Countryside, IL 60525
(708) 482-8473
(1 blk East of the intersection of Joliet Rd & La Grange Rd, and very near the La Grange Rd. North exit off I-55 - "Stevenson Expressway")
I shopped for new rims and this was one of the places I visited during the process because they're an authorized TSW dealer. (I'm leasing, so I didn't want to spend big bucks on a larger wheel/tire, and keep to the stock 18x8s. The TSW rims had the look, price, and quality I wanted.) Although I eventually bought them on eBAY (and, honestly, NTB's price was not that much higher than my eBAY buy...), I went back to this shop for the install because they explained things well (to this noob: things like TPMS sensors, offsets, etc.). The guy to deal with is Juliano Ali, the manager.
I brought the TSW rims over there this past Saturday and I was jumping up and down, so excited because this is the first set of wheels I'd ever purchased, and my cosmetic mods would be complete after this install. They used my original sensors (a savings well over $400 right there) and gave me an install price of............well, I don't want to say here because I wouldn't want to get Juliano into any trouble with NTB HQ. Let's just say he made my day/week/month/year! THANK YOU, MR. ALI!
If you need new tires, wheels, installation and you live anywhere near this shop, this is the place, friends. In fact, the new TSW rims look so good on my coupe, the man who did the actual install took a couple of photos of my ride with his camera phone (fine by me!)
I state here that I have absolutely NO affiliation with NTB nor with this particular shop except that I want to send business their way because they are pros and the customer service is peerless. GO!

Great to hear Patti! I am very surprised since it was an NTB but hey its always good to know quality places.
If you ever in the city and need a good shop check out
Top Speed Auto Sports,
2879 South Archer Avenue
Chicago, IL 60608-5649
(773) 847-3718
They just installed a set of 20" custom made 3pc Rennen Modular wheels w/ new sensors for an excellent price. Their machine prevents all lips from getting scratched! If anyone needs anything talk to "Andrew" tell him that Rico w/ the dropped blue infiniti sent you. They will take care of you. Stop in the back to see their slammed R33 or GTR.

I don't understand this thread. If you advertise the shop, but don't post the hook-up price he gave you, we have no idea if it's a good deal. You may feel he gave you an awesome hook up, but in reality it was a normal price, you see what I'm saying? TSW makes great wheels, so good choice. I personally don't like the rims you picked out, but I'm glad you're happy I say post the price or this thread is useless, just my opinion.

OEM wheels look much better than these. If you don't plan to drop the car, stay with the stock form. They just flow much better than undersized aftermarket wheels w/o a drop.
FAIL imo.

These TSWs are the same size as the stock alloys and probably the Zolder black makes them look smaller. For the reasons stated I stayed with the same size as the stockies, just wanted a different rim. Wish I could drop the car but can't given very steep driveway incline PLUS living in a town that doesn't invest a dime on streets.
Yeah, they look small but I have to tell ya this: I've noticed more drivers craning their necks checking out my coupe since I had these installed. I kinda doubt they're thinking, "Crap! She oughtta drop her car!"
Edit 6-9-11 @ 12:48 pm (CT): I removed the post with the pics because all the successive comments made me reach into my medicine cabinet for the anti-depressants.

OP- You'll have to understand that critique comes with any post of mods done to your car. People don't normally intend malice, but you need to have some thick skin if you want to post and recieve peoples' opinions. At the end of the day, as long as you're happy with your selections and choices, then that's all that counts.
Btw- they may be craning because you're a female driving a g coupe
