General G-MAX AS-03 anyone?
I've got a g37s 6MT. Looking for Ultra high performance all season tires. I really like the Continental DWS but they don't make the OEM size for the front tires.
Given that Continental has owned General for a few years, thought these new tires might be worth a try. Anyone have any experience?

I haven't had any personal experience, but I've heard NOTHING but PRAISES from other owners. It's, from what I hear, quite the bang for the buck. I would've gone with DWS' if they had my size, but I went with 960 Potenzas, solely based on availability (and previous experiences). A LOT of bimmer drivers are running them. I know a local E92 M3 owner that swears by them.
You can't go wrong with DWS'! Will be my next set of tires, onces I find a summer set...

I run DWS in 19" size on my Volvo XC90 since they arrived on the scene in the Fall of 2009 and they are great. For the G Vert I would suggest the Michelin A/S Pilot Sports - they are awesome (quiet, firm handling, great wet grip, decent tread wear) - I ran them on an S60R for about 3 years.

I've had my set for about 1,000 miles, so far so good. I'll update when I log more miles.
Steering is awesome and ride is excellents so far.
FYI: 245/40/19 and 275/35/19.

I also like the Michelin A/S Pilot Sports. Problem is they don't make the 225/45/19s; the OEM size for the front. Same issue I have with the Continental DWS. I don't want to step up on width as that will negatively impact performance in snowy conditions.
I'm really torn about living with the Summer stock tires here in Philly. We really only have about 10-20 days a year that it's and issue. Will probably end up getting AS tires come fall.

jmbladen..i live in Kansas city with those same 10-20 days that causes problem. I had no problems with my 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 dws in the snow last winter. G37 handled great with the traction controls in place, nothing but praise for the tires and the size. I have a M37s now and I will be getting the General G-MAX AS-03 for my new car this winter.

next_G35_owner,
Thanks for the feedback on wider DWS's and snow. Wondering what's got you moving to put the G-Max's on your M instead of DWS?
I have no personal experience with the General tires, but had the DWS on my Mini Cooper S JCW and was amazed at how they handled the snow. I've heard good things about G-max, but all 2nd hand at this point.
Thanks,
jmb

jmbladen..I have no experience with the General tires either but from the reviews in all the forums I have reviewed they are a sure thing. In addition, the much lower price caught my eye. Since Continental owns General and has shared technology with General, I will give the new tire and try and let everyone know my thoughts.

I am also in the market for new tires and I am leaning towards the G Max AS-03 since they are all weather and fit the OEM rims on my G37S 6MT. Any sacrifice to performance on dry roads? Also, I have a $300 credit to Infiniti towards new tires, so I was hoping to buy my tires from Infiniti so I can use this $300 credit. Does Infiniti sell General tires? If not, what would be a good alternative. I know they sell Michelin and Hankook. BTW, I really want all season tires since we get a few months of cold weather here in St Louis, MO. And I wan't to spend around $800.

BTK,
I purchased the G Max last fall as I live in Michigan and deal with the winter. I have about 10K-11K miles so far on the tires and put them on my stock rims, and there were not many options with the 19" size.
Overall, I am pleased with the tires for all around, all season work. Last winter they were very good, and the only day I didn't drive the car was when we had about 12"+ of snow overnight, and I didn't want to bottom out the car getting out of the subdivision. Overall, they performed well in the snow - probably better than I expected. We had our share of snow and ice last year, and I have no qualms going into this winter with them.
I was curious how they would perform into the spring and summer. Overall -acceptable. I can't say you won't sacrifice some handling. They do not "stick" to the road like the summer tires, and I can't say they corner with the same feel. I guess I expected a drop off, and that is what I experienced. In a perfect world, I'd rather have a summer set for extreme fun and winter set for safety, but I don't want the inconvenience or expense on a leased vehicle. I am now starting to get a bit of road noise, but nothing too bad. I had a set of Michelin A/S on my previous Volvo C70, and the road noise from them was almost unbearable. So far the G Max has been better.
I would not hesitate to buy them again.
