Plasti Dip CV1??

My dilemma is that I have a set of CV1 in a matt silver, I would like to get them painted a gunmetal color and still retain the chrome lip. I have consulted numerous powdercoating/paint shops locally and nobody is really willing to do the job due to the style of the rim(mainly the small gap between the spoke and the chrome lip). The only shop who is willing to do it wants $900 to get it painted. I’m now starting to wonder if I should just paint it myself, specifically using plasti-dip to see how it turns out. And if I like the color but not the finish I can revisit getting them painted during the winter, or if I find the finish to be adequate I would keep the plasti-dip. Any thoughts?

Thanks

if you plasti-dip spray them you should not have any problems removing it and it will protect the spokes heck i might do it for fun,,, but you have to put alot or it will be a B*ITCH to remove.i wouldnt paint my matte silver vossen cv1 coz then its permanent

The answer is no. Spend the money to get them done the right way, if it takes you time to save up and do it so be it.

Sounds good, i haven't seen plasti-dip up close but based on quick responses i will def. not do it lol. Well i will continue my search for a suitable shop. Thanks for the input fellas. I'm sure i could get Vossen to paint them but i live in Canada so shipping them out and back would cost way too much.

$900 isnt that bad of a price if u really want it done. last year I had my CCW Classics for my EM2 repolished, I paid $550 for that.

You said you want to paint them gunmetal... well, PlastiDip doesn't come in grey or gunmetal color.

So I say, go with what you like and just get them painted.

Did you even bother to ask Vossen? They have done some custom colors. Not sure about the lip though.
