Wheel lock questions.

So after being a victim and seeing plenty of other people on here with stolen wheels, I am going to purchase some wheel locks. I know that most wheel locks can be defeated by a pro, but I want something to slow them down or inconvenience them as much as possible. I have been looking at these and was wondering if anyone had any input?

KYO-EI - Dency 2000 Lock Nuts - Nengun Performance

I also heard gorilla guard made something with a spinning sleeve that you need a magnetic key to get off, but i didn't know which ones they were on the website.

Whats your opinion?

Seems like a lot of money but they might be worth it. When I got my car the dealer put them on, they cost $51 from Infiniti....

Wheel locks wont stop a professional, or even amateur thief. All they have to do is hammer on a socket to get it off.

alot of people say this, but it slows them down.. just like if you have a car alarm it wont stop them from stealing the car, but will make them think twice about the time involved and the possibility of being caught.. its better to try to prevent things then just pray they wont happen.

so I am just trying to figure out whats the best option for factory wheels that can be purchased easily?

It'll slow them down all of 10 seconds total on all 4 wheels. They can alternatively just show up with sockets that "lock" onto the lock, or grab it, and still get it off.

Your best bet is to insure the wheels in addition to your car... along with a sensitive shock sensor.

You could always use wheel locks for EVERY stud

well i mean in that case, why don't you just take them off yourself and leave em in a pile next to your car because i mean.... having them on your car only slows them down all of 10 seconds total on all 4 wheels.

Inviting isn't the same as not taking preventative measures.

Do you leave your windows open when your wife leaves her purse inside the car in plain view?

You know, I really want Volk or another aftermarket wheel to make lug covers that pop into the center cap location and need a physical key to pop it off and THEN the wheel lock and lug nuts are under it. Taking FOREVER to get the lugs off. Something like Audi does here:

Imagine where the logo is, there is a keyhole... just a thought.

These can be taken off with a regular socket.

How do I know? Because I own a set.

Plus, they're so common everyone owns a key, including every shop I've ever been to...

I have those Muteki ones and they are 20 locks. Like I said before you are more likely to hear someone smashing a socket onto the lug nut than you are to hear them with a lug wrench.
