2009 G37 sedan Journey model needs new tires
The car is bone stock, 20k miles and we need 4 new tires. We live in Hawaii so snow tires are not necessary, I'm guessing all season would be ideal.
Should we just go with the Goodyear RS-A which is what we have on it now or is there something better? I don't want to cheap out since my wife uses the car as her daily driver and would prefer that the car is safe enough for her to drive. Thanks guys!
Current tires are P225/55R17/95V

on tirerack, go with:
Michelin Primacy MXV4 (v-rated) (I use this currently)
Michelin MXM4 (v-rated)
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (uhp a/s)
or, change tire size to 245-50-17 and go with the Conti DWS (what I will be doing this fall)

My RSA's, at ~28k were gone. So at last, I shopped for a replacement… for days, reading posts, this -very helpful- forum and others, the 'net etc. I wanted something quiet, probably a size up to 245's, good quality with good grip in the wet and dry. In my humble opinion, the field narrowed down to the Conti ExtremeContact DWS and Michelin PS+ A/S. I went back and forth one then the other. While shopping, I found a tire dealer in Anaheim that could get the Conti's at $850 and the Michelins at $950. complete. The Michelins also had a $70 rebate, so the price was about equal. As close as the choice was for me, maybe because I've owned previous versions of Michelin pilots in the past, I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus for my 09 Sedan in 245/50/17.
How do the Michelins compare with the RSA's? I can remember what the RSA's were like for me when new and IMHO, they didn't change that much over time. I rotated them often and drove them “spiritedly”. Given they were the only tires I have had on the car, I couldn’t really compare them with other tires. However, now after driving with the Pilot Sports on the car, I think I should have discarded the RSA's when I bought the car and got the Michelins before my car left the dealer's lot.
I hope my post will help people shopping for a tire upgrade for their G37 Journey’s. Of course, your mileage may differ, as your driving style and preferences may be different than mine.

Agreed, the RS-A isn't a great performer. On the high end I would look at Michelins Primacy MXV4. One of the top in ride, wet, quietness, etc. Goodyear's Assurance Comfort Tread Touring is another good contender. Finally, for the lower price range look at Kumhos LX Platinum.
