What to look for when buying used wheels?
#3
In general look at the finish of all wheels. Some used wheels will have damage on them. Check to make sure that the finish is the same on all the wheels or that the scratches are not to deep to repair. Check and make sure that none are warped or bent. For name brand wheels; research the the wheels before seeing them in person or take someone along that knows about the wheels to make sure that youre getting what you paid for. One tell tale sign is that the hardware (bolts, valvestem, or screws) is different or missing on 1 or more wheels. This means that the wheel was previously taken apart or damaged. For tires look at the tread depth and speed rating, and tire wear. Also make sure that the sizes will fit on the model car that you have sos that the vdc does not go crazy.

all those are good tips, also look for the inner weights that help balance the wheel. Make sure they are all there, especially if they claim "new wheels never mounted" they shouldn't come with the weights.
