The tire isn't taller just because the number is larger (because the number represents a percentage of the tire width)
So front is 0.4 x 245 = 98 mm's tall
rear is 0.35 x 275 = 96.25 mm's tall
1.75mm isn't really a noticeable difference to the naked eye and as close to OEM as possible (the main objective)

I was talking about the difference between the 245/40 and the 245/35. I installed the 245/40's and there is a lot more tire height wise than the rear. It looks a little abnormal when comparing the two from the side.
