id go with vossen since 8.5, 9.5 is weak sauce

but on a BO, gt30 formula silver ftw!!!

with the wheels on someones car what's the easiest way to tell if they are 8.5 / 9.5 or 9.5/ 10.5?

i think they look great! go for the volks, get some springs/coils, some spacers and call it a day!
