I suggest that you call him directly to work out your specific needs and a price for his services - I left the phone # in the original post to help you out.

Al's is not the lowest cost powdercoating operation out there but he has a great reputation and the quality of his work is outstanding. He is an awesome guy and very accommodating.

I dropped off my wheels on a Saturday and they were done a couple of days later on Tuesday. This inscluded unmounting tires, TPMS, prep wheels, PC (rims and center caps), reinstall TPMS and tires, high speed balance and then when I picked up they removed existing wheels on my car, bagged them and then reinstall my new PC'd units on my car while I waited. So, the price isnt just about how much to PC the rims for me...

Needless to say it was well worth the trip from NJ over 2 bridges and a short jaunt on the LIE for me and I am very happy. I have had them for almost a year and the finish is still perfect!

I would highly recommend Al's not only for PC but ANY wheel work including refinishing, bend or dent repair etc.

I agree- you need to check around your area the PC shops.. you will get quote from $125-50 per wheel. Quality is really the key as B said.

Good Luck..

Hey everyone, 1st time posting

I painted my wheels black myself. I get compliments all the time. It was easy, it's durable, it looks sharp.

Question, my current wheels are already powder-coated. Is it safe to powder-coat them again? I am planning on going a different color this time. I might have two sets of wheels soon so I might want to mess with my current set. I am just not sure if it will be safe since they will go thru the process of heating and cooling again.

I heard that hot temp PC can even crack rims, is that right?
I wonder if low temp PC is more expensive.

you guys worry too much ..find a quality powdercoater that strictly does wheels and you will be fine. there are many places that powdercoat everything from wheels to cabinet handles: those you might wanna stay away from as they are probably unaware of the wheel process.

Powder Coating is:
a) Cheaper than Painting
b) More Durable than Paint process
c) No runs - beautiful finish!

Yes in the baking process rims are done at a certain temp. Most aftermarket wheels are powder coated. Go to a reputable shop and your set!
