Education on Rims

I'm a new owner of a G37 never bought a car before and never have I bought rims before. So I need some help figuring a bunch of things out.

I want the 20" Lexani LSS-5's (Tire Size - 245/35/20 (front) 275/30/20 (rear) I've been told that I should go with a 5x114.3 +40mm offset but I don't know what that means. I want a 2.5" lip in the front and 4" rear, dropped on eibachs.

I was wondering if someone could help me figure this whole thign out with offsets, fitament and what not? I'd appreciate the help.

You know what wheel diameter you want (20") and have the right bolt pattern (5X114.3MM) and appropriate tie sizes. As far as offset, that will determine how far your outer wheel face protrudes from or recedes into the fender well. I don't really know much about your wheels. What are the wheel widths both front and back? Is the +40 the offset of the front wheels or the rears? You have to know that before being able to determine how aggressive a given offset is. +40 will likely be a very mild offset and won't poke out.

A 4" lip ain't likely gonna happen unless you have a super aggressive offset that hast crazy negative camber with tucked in wheels that eat up tires every month or trade your G37 for a G35.

The Wheels width's are 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear, I don't want the wheels to be tucked in or sticking out, so what would be the perfect offset or near perfect offset without being too aggressive nor being too conservative. (09 G37 Coupe Journey)

My vossens w 4" rear lip and +25. With no negative camber was a hit but I'm running 255!!! No need to run Neg camber , also with a + 30 I ran a 275 and to me that's the cleanest /aggressive way to go .

Vossen offeres great selection in wheels and they are 9.0 an 10.5 with offsets up to +20/25!!! I ran many offsets and vossen has the 25 front with 30 rear and you can run 245/35 w 275/30 an it looks fantastic ... He also offers more conservitive offsets like 32/39 and 38/45 wich I don't like!!! For an eibach drop I would do 32/39 offsets With 245/35 and rear 285/30 !!! The wider the wheel / lower offsets!!! The smaller the tire gets !!! I went from 305 w +45 to +39 w 285 to +30 w 275 and now I'm at +25 w 255 !!! Make sense?

Makes sense so 245/35/20 +32 (front) and 275/30/20 +39 offset (rear) and this is with the eibachs. I guess I have everything I need to know now. If I get anything wrong let me know,

1. 20" Lexani LSS-5 (20x8.5 (front) - 20x10 (rear))
2. Yoko S. Drives/Falken F452 - (Front) 245/35/20 +32 and (Rear) 275/30/20 +39
3. Eibachs and If too much of a negative camber get a camber kit
4. Don't need spacers or might not need spacers

If I missed anything let me know and thanks all I have to do now is order the rims.

I Don't want it to be to conservative so should I stick to +32 and +39 or go lower than that but I don't want it to be too aggresive.
