How to pack wheels + tires in a box

I read many post and etc "how to pack wheels and tire" to ship.
But I wanted to have final input before I actually do it by myself.

I am sending my OEM 19" Wheels + OEM Tires to Canada, with ground transport.

What is best way to pack the wheels? and cheaper?

I figured out that having two box, in stead of having 4 individual boxes is cheaper.

MY PLAN:
I bought two 26 x 26 x 26 Box from UPS Store. They actaully fit perfect.
1) cover the face of wheels with bubble wrap (circle)
2) cut the cardboard into slightl bigger piece that cover the face on top of bubble wrap
3) tape the cardboard box to the tire (rubber) area so wrap and cardboard sticks.
4) Also tape around the edge of the tires where it might get damaged
5) do it for four wheels and tires

6) Put the rear wheel + tire in the bottom of box face facing up (heavier)
7) put couple cardboard cut in square that fit the square box 26 x 26
8) bubble wrap on top of cardboard
9) put couple cardboard cut in square that fit the square box 26 x 26
10) put the front wheel + tire in the top of the rear wheels + tire facing down

11) do one more time for other box.

How is this sound? please give me any more comment that will make it better.

And I read couple post from here and there (other forums too) that Wheels got beat up and damaged with Fedex ground. and ppl prefer UPS.
What do you think? price is almost the same anyways. it is to Canada

i would make sure to note it as fragile (not sure if that would make them take better care or not)

I'll tell you how volk ships rims, the lips have covers around them (i'm sure painter tape would do) and cardboard pieces on the front and back on the wheel. that was pretty much it. they all were in individual boxes.

Did you get estimates using the size and weight of each box? UPS charges "dimensional weight" which basically charges extra for packages that are above some mysterious size to weight ratio. It is likeley cheaper to just ship them all separately without boxing them at all. Just wrap them well with stretch wrap and cardboard covering the wheel faces.

May be that's good idea too, but that wouldnt damage the tires? face of wheel will be okay for sure with lots of protection right?

Tires and wheels get shipped like that every single day. Don't overthink it or try to reinvent tge wheel. No pun intended.

I agree with BB, the tires I ordered from Tire Rack just came secured with 2 plastic straps and some clear tape. 80% of the tire wasn't even covered at all.
