Spacers VOID Warranty????

hey guys

i was just a wheel shop in Missisaauga (Ontario Canada) and they are mid-highend wheels only.

They told me using spacers is not advised at all - vibrations, VOIDS WARRANTY if DEALER SEE'S it. etc!!

ANyone have experience?

I don't think they void the entire warranty they just won't do warranty work on any damage resulting from them...that's the way my dealer explained it when I talked to them about my different mods

^^+1. If you have spacers and then try to take your car in for vibration or something like that then of course not. Now if your AC goes out, I dont see the spacers being an issue.

Probably you should take them off prior going to the dealership.

think about it -- you're pushing the wheels out a bit w/ spacers... that can cause change in the stock ride, where the wheels are sitting, etc.

The magnuson-moss warranty act provided that vehicle modifications could not void the warranty unless the dealer can show that the modification in question caused whatever malfunction occured.

Keeping Your Mod's Warranty Intact - For Dummies

That article also adds: unless the warranty clearly states the addition of aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicle's warranty

So, I guess you may want to read through your warranty first also. But yeah, I suppose you can always take them off if that is feasible.

LOL - take them off!!?..i dont think thats an option since spacers are usually used since most wheels wont clear the large brakes on a G37 Sport! LOL.. Wont go far banging along the caliper! LMAO!!

nice one though.

Advan, , Forgestar, iForged and 360Forged, any wheels you order from a good company can be made to clear S brakes w/o spacers as long as you tell them thats what you want

how exactly would say 20mm spacers void warranty?
do they harm the wheel bearings, suspension or any other part in the long run?

how would they even know if you have spacers? i highly doubt the would take the wheel off to see if their installed for any issue.
