replacement for stock tires question, Toyo T1R
Got a great quote/offer to replace the 225/45R19 92W and 245/40R19 94W with Toyo T1R's
225/40 19 and 245/40 19. Are there any known issues with going to a smaller ratio from 45 to 40 in the front? I'm really not looking to pay 290 a tire for some bridgestones that really are all the extra cost due to the name.
I'm leasing the vehicle so I don't want any problems. I called the dealership but of course I still haven't received a response from the service center.
Thanks for your help!

Just to throw it out there, I talked to the service center at my infiniti dealership but they wouldn't tell me if the tires would pass return inspection or not. They also quoted me at 1477.00 for 4 new bridgestones that originally came on the car. Mount and Balancing of course included, but I truly did not expect to be paying this much for tires. The guy also couldn't tell me if there would be any issues with electronics. He explained new tires are going to make the car drive different, not saying it would be good or bad. I'm kind of shocked no one here has a response. I'm looking to replace all 4, I'm at 22200 miles, rears barely passing inspection and got a flat in my front passenger just this weekend. I think my dealer is running a special buy 3 get 1 for free in april. Which should cut the price down by about 320.
My dumbass fault for getting into a 39 month lease anyhow.

You just need 4/32" tread or more on each tire to pass inspection IIRC.
As for going from 45 to 40 in the front, it will throw off your VDC, and it won't function as it does from the factory. The key here is tire diameter; the ratio between the front and rear tires will be off, even with the allowance built in for wear. It may or may not really be noticeable depending on your driving habits.
@ nosocoeckodoz: you should see the look on Scion tC owner's faces when they get quoted on OEM tires

well i had 275/40 in the rear then went to 275/30 and the vdc was acting funny i couldnt accelerate because everytime i hit the gas the "slip" light comes on and kills the gas so i was stuck going about 15mph. i turned the vdc off and it was fine but thats not safe so i turned it back on and drove a few miles and seems like it starts to learn the grip the tires have. the "slip" light started comming up less and less until it only came on when the tires actually slipped like its supposed to. so from my experince it seems like the vdc ecu or whatever will adjust to the new diameter or the tires
