Sedan with Coupe 19's

Anyone have a picture of a sedan sport with the coupe 19's BEFORE it has been lowered? I know it sounds like a strange request but I am planning to do in stages if at all. The wheels tires are nearly same combined size but hear a lot of flaming about people who do not drop. I'd like to see what it looks like.

Also what would you recommend for springs of I do not want to give up ride quality nor do I want a significant drop...more for appearance than anything. I do not want to slam my car and have to have all kinds of kits to keep tires wearing evenly.

Thanks!!

even tho it's not larger, the gap of the stock springs be an ish wider cause of the wheel to tire ratio. less tire sag

the ride quality is going to vary from brand to brand but from exp. i would say the most of the roughness is going to come from the 19s themselves. the dampeners on the G are actually pretty good. you could live with the dampeners.

the eibach drop looks sick with them.
any drop that's going to make the gap look good (~1"-1.5") you're going to need cambers. so be prepared to spend another 500 ish on top of whatever it takes to lower your car. they look even more sick with spacers.

i mean just look at the stealth black from done by beshoff. I love that drop.

So your pic above is AFTER the drop, correct? What did you use to drop, as that setup looks good?

You lost me on your comment about "gap of the stock springs is an inch wider cause of wheel to tire ratio, less sag". Are saying the that even though the overall circumfrence of the tire/wheels is roughly the same as the 18's that the gap between tire and fender will increase without the drop?

My apology for the "stupid" question I've never lowered a car or needed to so I am learning (or trying to). I am not trying to slam it and turn in into some street raceer...I just like the 19's on the car and want it to look good (normal good, not street racer good) without killing my ride quality.

I have 19's OEM on my ride as well with no drop and the ride height looks the same as mine, so he's most likely not dropped

You like the way it looks...I like the way his looks in the picture. If not dropped...I'm not dropping mine.

Any pics of your's?

Major difference in ride quality with the 19's?

Yeah I like the way it looks, altho I am tempted to drop it on some eibach's as well, but afraid I won't be able to clear my work's drive way and don't wanna be scrapping everyday.
This is the only pic of the ride I have on my work computer..

yeah sorry the 1st pic is not dropped, it's on the stock sport suspension.

looks pretty that way too, but the 1.2-1.5" drop looks SICK (which the eibachs will drop) I mean you're bound to scrap but only the underside from what I hear. just have to be careful not taking any curbs at a high speed.

but yeah what i meant is the fender gap is going to be the same but will look wider cause of there's less tire.

ride quality is going to be rougher w/ the 19s. the more wheel translating road texture, stiffer tire side walls. etc.

the wheels vs springs the wheels change the ride quality more than the springs do ironically (in terms of ride noise; if you hit a bump yeah that's the springs fault lol)

I'm half inch away from from scraping on my driveway (very steep), no way I'm gonna drop it >1". I'm probably just going to swap the wheels out and see how that sits with me and if I do not like it I will re-sell them.

I just bought a 2010 G37s as well and upgraded to the 19s coupe wheels, no drop. The car feels phenomenal, but I can picture getting sea-sick on long trips as the road waves translate to the driver really well.

Would I be better off to sell the wheels or revamp the suspension to deal with the new wheels?

Tanabe Sustec Coilover

HI,

I have a 2010 G37S with Pre/nav/sport and just install the Sustec S-OC last week with mild drop from Lou Amplified. The ride is very nice compare to the stock. It's good for the money spend.

Hope this helps if you decided to go coil over and use the 19". Better than spring that's for sure.

I have tried these set up before: Cobb spring (STI), Tein super Street coilover with EDFC, Megan racing Coil over, and BC BR coil over.

mod to fit 19's?

Dealer just told me today that the coupe 19's won't fit on the sedan...

For clarification the sedan is 09 prem non-sport

do the coupe wheels or the sedan need to be modded to fit?

Your dealer is clueless; the 19" wheels of the coupe do fit on the sedan.

THANKS! that's what I thought...I'm trading my coupe S for new sedan X and want to keep the stock coupe wheels as summers for the sedan...they aren't thrilled about that...and they have a point that they will need to replace my winter set with new ones to resell it so I don't blame them...they will probably make it financially impossible for me to do it anyway...may still trade it and put something coll aftermarket on the sedan...but I don;t like being BS'd

they shouldn't be thrilled about that... I don't think it's legal to sell a car without wheels.

i mean you can keep the wheels if they choose to devalue the car they can. they won't give you full value for an incomplete car. the VIN number will tell the story and they'd be obligated to supply 19inch wheels for the next customer. or at least not charge any additional money if whatever they put on ends up costing more.
