Best Symmetrical Tread Tires?

I'll be in the market for some tires soon and was wondering what's out there that has symmetrical tread so I can at least swap tires side-to-side. The only thing I found so far in the forums is the Falken FK452's, which I'm leaning toward. However, if anyone else has other suggestions, I'm open to them.

I live in California, so my driving conditions are not too demanding. A little rain once in a blue moon (especially lately), that's about it.

I'm not positive but I think you will have a hard time finding a symmetrical tread tire with speed rating that is equivalent or higher than OEM (typically OEM is W).

Check with Neil @ Tirerack. From a brief search, I didn't find anything.

Chase,

It's okay to run directional tires backward as long as you're not in the rain. We do it all the time at the track to get extra wear

I would consider toyo t1r, yokohama s.drives, and hankook v12 over the falkens

I've heard good things about the S drives as well. I just want something that'll give me the best bang for the buck.

I must've incorrectly read a post earlier which I thought said the FK452's were symmetrical. After some googling, I can see that it clearly isn't.

Well, I think it still comes down to the FK452's or the S drives so far. Any more input is appreciated.

Check out Nitto Invo tires. Great performance, great looking, and you can swap them between sides, because they don't have directional tread. I had them and loved them.

They're both quite a big downgrade from the stock tires. Expect a lot more screeching and squeeling =]

Is it really that much of a difference? I know they won't perform as well, but I don't push the car very often, so I think I can live with it. The current tires are definitely great, I just wish the stockies were a bit more durable.

They should last 40-50% longer if you drive the same, but don't switch tire models unless you're replacing all four. The grip difference between the front and rear will drive VDC insane.

You might want to consider upsizing, as that'll make up for a lot of the grip difference, but also keep in mind it'll close the price differential as well.

Yeah, nothing in symmetrical design, especially with more sport based/lower profile sizes like that. Best, outside directional, to do is an asymmetrical. Can still be rotated left/right which is all you can do with staggered fit anyway.
