how do i find out how much to torque this nut on the rear axle?
so i'm doing a little project to fit some rims .. i'm going to have to shave down the rear axle a bit to the point where the cotter pin is so just a precautionary i plan on putting thread lock on the thread as well as the inside of the bolt to make sure it stays in place.
would anyone know the torque value for this nut that i've pointed out with the arrow?

I wouldn't screw with something like that without if for sure.
Even though you aren't a noob, I'm going to spoon feed you because I'm intrigued by your project.

If not, it should be easy enough to fabricate something yourself, even if it's crude and elementary. How about a thick piece of rubber (thicker than a balloon) cut to shape and secured with a heavy rubber band or something similar? I know it sounds ghetto as hell, but you get the idea. As long as it works and would serves the purpose it shouldn't matter how it looks because the wheel is covering it anyway.
